Holiday Technical Advice #1
The Remote Shutdown

For those unfamiliar, Microsoft Windows comes with the ability to remotely remotely restart and shutdown other computers. This requires administrative rights on any machine that you wish to manipulate. To execute this maneuver simply type the following in to the command prompt:
Code:
shutdown /r /m \\[ComputerName] /t 1

The /r will issue a reboot while replacing it with a /s will force a shutdown.

For many of you, this is new information that has made your day. An amazing new way to shutdown computers!!! But I urge you to forget it as quickly as you learned it. Say nay to the command prompt and it's wickedness! Instead run the simple command:
Code:
shutdown /i

Look at what you get!!!
