I'm sorry for my ignorant knowledge of the original Japanese versions of Megaman games, but I have no idea what this thread is about. I take it that "Dr Wily No Nazo" was the sequel caption for "Rockman 2"... I have no idea what "nazo" means either. I think we all immediately thought of "Nazi", but wouldn't Dr. Wily be Pro-Nazi, or Yes Nazi, or Si Nazi?
I haven't a clue. If the world knows "UHF" as "The Vidiot from UHF", I figure the world knows jack about subtitling things. Look at America: "Silent Hill 4: The Room", "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl", and "Die Hard 2: Die Harder".
Yes, I randomly picked those examples. There are MUCH dumber ones out there. Actually, Die Harder is a GOOD title.

Dr.Wily Yes Nazi, I think you figured it out. The Japanese, being on the wrong side of the earth (in China) got yes and no mixed up (because they're wrong), so they meant to say Dr.Wily Yes Nazi. Nazo is a typo of Nazi because "i" is so close to "o" on the keyboard.

Still doesn't make much sense. There's nothing puzzling about Dr. Wily, he just keeps building more evil robots that Megaman can conviently steal the powers of once he beats their asses. No big mystery there.

Remember that "nazo" can also mean "mystery." Maybe the mystery is what's up in Wily's head that makes him keep doing the same things over... and over... and over. And let's not forget that he recycled 32 of his androids after they had already been defeated. Twice. Because we always defeat everybody twice. So it really is a puzzle - what's wrong with Wily?
Did that count as alliteration? Oh well, close enough. I do love alliteration.

Exactly, that's where the true nazo comes from, is the alien morph. Although it's obvious after you beat him that the whole thing was a holographic setup, still, it's pretty nazo. And nazi.
