I read this list and I personally think that one of the Street Fighter II games should have been number one. Who agrees with me?

That list was terrible. SFA2 was nowhere to be found, the original Alpha was meh, and 4 versions of SF2 are on it, when it should been just Hyper Fighting or Super Turbo.

Definitely not. Street Fighter II is great, but Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold (or Street Fighter Zero 2 Alpha in Japan) smoothed out the engine and sped up the combat while balancing out character cheapness and keeping things technical, but not so technical that the newbie can't button mash their way to victory against the first couple of CPUs, giving them the chance to learn the ropes. I know a lot of people say that Street Fighter III is the best Street Fighter, but I disagree. While it is a hell of a lot of fun for the experienced player, anyone who plays Street Fighter III has to already know how to play another Street Fighter game. III is much too technical to be newbie-friendly. So yeah, basically I agree with Bomberman.

The original Street Fighter was crap and shouldn't have been on this list. I'm probably among the people who thought Alpha 3 was the best, and I didn't see what Alpha 2 did any better than it. To add on, I didn't see Champion Edition, and that one was my favorite of all the SF editions. Glad to see Third Strike, though I personally think it should be second and have Champion Edition in No. 1.

That was a stupid list, I don't get why so many people consider all the SF2 versions different games, I see them as supersceding the ones before it. SF2 turbo should make SF2 irrelevant.

I'm with Char and Bomberman, Alpha 3 was outstanding... imo the best Streetfighter out there. I do however think 3 is a close second. I think it's pretty much flawless, just not as fun because I don't have any friends that are any good at it, so I'm almost always playing the cpu, where as the alpha's everyone could play, like char said, because it was more noob friendly, and people that played the old SF2 could just jump right in. They had too many renditions of WW in there, and not enough alpha's. I also think that the Street fighter Vs games should not be included because they play more like marvel superheros than the original street fighters.

Street fighter topic, I'm so here.
3rd strike is my favorite. Its the vidcon fighter's fighter. If I want to play someone and they aren' t familier with it, then its to Street fighter II turbo, with its classic gameplay. Most people I hang out with have played II before, and it has Fei Long, which people like for some reason. I proceed to rip them to shreds with zangief.
Somethings always felt a bit off to me about alpha, so I'm not a big fan. The Vs series are good, but not practical for me to acquire.
In any case, the problem with the list is the same with every list, in that its completely arbitrary. Furthermore, "best street fighter" is even worse. 3rd Strike might be better, but on the game map its much more underground that II Champion. Can it be best if so few people played it? The answer is it doesn't matter.
(I'd also like to note every one of those lists have about a paragraph of dialogue. It seems kind of sparse.)

Cool character themes replaced with not-so-great techno and breakbeat music. =/

While I'd say Alpha 3 is the most fun to just jump in and play, I think Third Strike just had an amazing style to it that makes it my favorite. I just wish III had more characters. Since they did a SFIV, I'm hoping there will be an Alpha 4. I would love to see SFIII characters done in an Alpha style.

That would be amazing, sorta like our very own Street Fighter Armageddon minus the gameplay going backwards.
