So I'm always bitchign to my buddy about wanting to find a girl friend, I havn't really had one, friends with a bunch but never dated, so he decided he's going to pick out a girl that he thinks I could like and I'm going to ask her out.
I have to do this before the end of November, then I have to do it twice more (if the first is a no) by New Years Day. Not sure how well this will go but I'm going to give it a shot anyway, will update.

Why don't you just find one yourself and ask her out?
Just go out tomorrow evening with your buddy, find a place where people are hanging out, pick out a girl and ask her out.
Elaborate plans and deadlines never work because women can smell the stink of desperation and rejection as well as dogs can sniff for drugs, and nothing is a bigger turnoff. If you have a "I'll ask out the first attractive girl I see and if she says no, it's her loss because I'm awesome" attitude, you'll find it much easier.

Aww a panda giving another panda advice!
Dude I'm in the same boat as far as looking. Everytime I go out though I get hit on, but I always find a flaw and it basically ends it for me. I need to just man up and quit looking for the perfect girl.

I can only hit on girls if I have a wingman.
As a random sidenote, I was once supposed to dress up as a Wingman Superhero and go to a bar with a friend. A third person would've had a hidden video camera to record whatever went down. That ended because of how much work was involved. I'm also sure I would've gotten beat up at several points.
Moral is: Have a stupider friend than you backing you up. It's like when a hot girl has an uglier friend with her.

No, it's a shitty teen movie if he falls in love with the last girl and she with him, then some one comes up and congratulates him on reaching his goal. She gets confused and angry, runs off. He punches friend and chases her. He explains everything and then they make out/have sex right there.

How silly. Just look for a girl your attracted to on your own, make conversation, and ask her on a date if she seems interesting enough to further pursue. I mean how does this play out? "Hey my friend thinks I would like you. Wanna go out with me?" I suspect your shy and maybe insecure, otherwise this wouldn't be an option, but the only way to get over it is to do it yourself and realize it's not a big deal.

I forget how old you are.
If you are in high school, find a quiet shy girl that you like and ask her to a dance. They have those a few times a year... or at least they did when I was in school.
That's what I did 10 years ago. We have been together since and are happily married.

I really want to contribute something useful to this topic, I've got some tough experience with girls I like, but this comment has had me rolling for days.

It's hard to just do it and if I really like the person the fear of rejection is the worst, I figure doing this get's me used to approaching girls and will ultimately make me see that rejection isn't that bad.
I'm looking at it like a job, something I have to do that I don't have a choice, if I think like that it's just easier to do with a friend pushing me towards it.
