Get this: Last night, it wasn't even 9 yet when I turned on my radio, heard that the song I like that was playing was just ending, and turned it off. Next thing I know, it's 3:47 in the morning and I'm in bed, fully dressed with the light out and no recollection of doing any of it.

Anything like that ever happen to you guys?

I was at a party in California a couple years back, I woke up in Florida the next day minus a kidney and have no idea how I got there.

That happens to me a few times a week, I think it's because I usually get only about 4 hours of sleep at night so after a few days, my body crashes right after work and I fall asleep for 12-14 hours without realizing it.

Only time I ever blacked out from being drunk, my roommates decided to video tape me. It was weird, watching stuff happen that I didn't remember.

Sadly, no. I never got a copy of it, or I'd upload it. I'm debating uploading a video history project Spanky and I did on WWI. It needs some clean up work though. We used the ever popular Windows '95 Marquee Screen Saver to do the credits and some scene transitions, and the text would be unreadable at the standard YouTube video size and resolution.

About a year ago I was doing some video cleanup for home movies. I was using http://www.virtualdub.org and setting certain filters up to clean and sharpen it up to look much better. The finished version wasn't DVD quality, but it looked a thousand times better than VHS.

You might want to do some searching into cleaning filters for VirtualDub and play with it.

Well, my primary goal is just to rip from VHS to DVD so that I have a reliable copy and so that Spanky can have one as well. Sharing it with you guys is more of an afterthought, and someone else would have to be responsible for the clean-up work.

My time needs to be spent on articles, as I am quite distraught by the site's falling traffic ranking.

Quick fix = Have Costco do it for you.

They do VHS to DVD transfers for like $20
