On this day in 2004, Americans awoke to learn that President Bush had won his steel cage match against John Kerry and retained the World Heavyweight Title. They rejoiced.
Also on this day in 2004, SydLexia.com officially launched and the Revolution X article went live.
In celebration of this glorious day, you can expect to receive the backdated AYAOTD S5 article I still owe you guys, and hopefully something fresh as well.

Feliz Cumpleanos, SydLexia.com!
I also notice that the first news post was December 8th, 2004. A sad day in rock history (death of Dimebag and 24th anniversary of John Lennon's death), but a triumph for SydLexia.com nonetheless.

I had a big touching paragraph written for this, but I was having trouble connecting to the site, so I lost it. This was my first forum as well. Cheers.

The news blog is completely fucked and I can't update it.
I am going to syndicate the old blog to a new blog, which can then be updated. Before that happens though, I need a new template.

This would be my second forum (first goes to DnD), but my personal favorite.
Happy birthday, now do an article not about AYAOTD.

This would be my third forum. I started a single thread on the 8-Bit Theater forums during my GameWinners days.

Cheers to Syd and all of you! It's definitely been a pleasure thus far.

Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us. |

You also owe me an educated Nirvana beatdown.
But yea, man. I remember the first time I found the Robot Masters article. I found it once, thought it was hilarious, then I went for a while not remembering where I found it, and that really annoyed the hell out of me. But regardless, I obviously found the site again, and found a glorious rememberance of 80's & early 90's stuff for kids. With much better memory than mine might I add. I figured since Syd never updated that often, this would be a site I would come to once every blue moon. Once the 100 greatest NES articles hit, I began coming to this site religiously, which of course would not only blossom into my coming to the forums (and of all places for a forum to have) but I, out of complete and utter boredom decided to go meet Syd himself!
I leave it up to the reader to find my story of this.
In fact fuck George Carlin, I'm changing my sig to a classic Syd quote.

Wszystkiego najlepszego z okazji czwartych urodzin, Sydlexia.com!
I remember when I first found the site. It was... 2005? I think. I was addicted to Mega Man back then and I was constantly reading stuff about the robot masters, the games themselves, fanstories and such. Then I found the Robot Master article and I thought to myself "Kurna, ten gościu nieźle pisze", which, in translation means something like "Wow, this dude's pretty awesome". And I started reading the whole page, back to back. In a month I probably read the whole site twelve times or so. I think the latest article at this point was the Girls of the NES one. Since then, I've been reading the site regularly and I joined the forum on my sixteenth birthday.
I guess I can thank Syd (and Valdronius, and Dr. Jeebus, and whoever else helped with the site) for providing me with great reading material which in turn leveled up my english skill to a decent level.
So, I raise my coffee which I just made up for this sentence to you, Syd, and all of you who helped with the site. Here's to four years of great stuff, and here's hoping for at least four more. Na zdrowie!
A, przy okazji. Nie będę więcej pisał po polsku bez tłumaczeń.
