I remember seeing seeing a topic on the Irate Gamer a few months ago and I decided to make a topic about it.
Just today, I stumbled across this topic about the five worst video game related websites and the list kicks off with the Irate Gamer's website. The article says that the "Irate Gamer has won his success from copying the same fundamental formula as the Angry Video Game Nerd" and that "it was absolutely disingenuous for him to repudiate Mario 2 for being a copy of Dokie Dokie Panic".
I just thought I'd bring it up. I apologize to you all if I broke any rules.

I only subscribed to Irate just so i can keep up to date on what he has to say. He's the least funny guy on youtube . . . yah . . . all of youtube . . . The only good thing i can say about him is at least the cinematography is good.

Yeah, but the cinematography is the only thing that's good for the most part. His reviews never got me further than a slight smirk. They're just not funny.
Honestly, he deserved to be on that list.

Said it once, I'll say it again, Irate Gamer fucks up the definitions of words in his videos and has a 5th grader's mental capacity for storytelling and narration. To be fair, AVGN does that too. His recent video on Dick Tracy was a classic example of that, as most of his complaints were based on fake controversies that could have been solved by simply reading the instruction manual (he had the game as a kid)
He also said he never got past the first level, cuz the game was too hard. Hell, even I beat Dick Tracy, and I rarely beat platformers or any non-sports game ( I never even beat SMB1). I'm beginning to think AVGN is always so frustrated because he just sucks at video games.
(I still say AVGN's complaints about Castlevania 2 were well founded.)

The difference between the AVGN's approach to this is that he actually intertwines it into an amusing narrative, whereas the Irate gamer merely makes a mention of the controversy then instantly solves it 5 seconds later with no punchline, thus making him a fatso douchebag.

While I agree with Irate Gamer being there, the list isn't that good. I very much so like IGN for some reason. I have never been to seganerds but for them to basically say the sega was trash and calling sonic a very average game when it's considered to me much more than average just seems a bit off.
It also seems like this article was written, then the writer got out a thesaraus and edited out every common word with a more obscure word in it's place just to sound intelligent.
I had never heard of Old Wizard, but I guess what better way to get some attention than knock better known sites.
I really liked the response talkign about how unfunny AVGN is but that Irate was great even though the reasons stated for why AVGN "sucks" are the same reasons why Irate is apparently funny.

Yeah, I kind of noticed that. Since SegaNerds.com is on that list, I should have known that sooner.
To be fair with that guy, he did post a much better article less than two weeks ago. It's an article about why video games should have stayed in 2D.

I'm about 100% sure he is just making fun of games that are A) Harder or more obscure then usual or B) Generally disliked by the masses. I've never seen a review of his about an actually GOOD game. But then again maybe you weren't being serious. Dick Tracy though!? Without an instruction booklet or using the internet it took me and my buddy about 30 minutes to figure out how to use the health pick ups.

The I-rape Gay-mer is one big fat retard. Although as much as it pains me to say this, AVGN isn't a whole lot funnier either.
In my opinion, the whole "reviews of bad old games" idea isn't one that ever could have been funny for very long. Oh well, it was awesome while it lasted.

This was back in my days of being five or six, but I don't think I was ever able to figure out using the health pick ups, and I constantly died for the same reasons that AVGN stated.(The ****ing Snipers.)
