I had a toncilectomy and septoplasty on wednesday and was supposed to be home yesterday around 6am but had to stay until noon today due to a few complications. When I woke up from the anaesthia my heart was racing, normal heart rate is around 60-90 bpm(beats per minute), my heartrate was up at 170bpm. My throat spasmed when they were removing the intibation tube causing fluid to drain into my lungs giving me pneumonia as well.
I'm doing ok now, my throat is just really sore and I'm pretty tired but other than that I'm doing a fair bit better and very glad to be home.
Just thought I'd let you guys know.

Wow! 170? Welcome to the top! My heart is often around 150 or so but during bad days it jumps up to 170.
Sucks about the pneumonia and surgery though.
Try not to have pneumonia or surgery.

For about 2 years my quality of sleep has been awful, can't properly breathe through my nose to to a deviated septim so they corrected that and removed the toncils wich they hope will alleviate my sleep apnea and allow me to breather through my nose so I might actually get a real nights sleep some day. Really hope it works.
Lottel, 150 is ridiculously high to have on a regular basis, wow, that can't be too healthy can it?
Thanks for the kind words guys.

Um. No. I'm constantly on the verge of death. That makes me awesome right? Right? Please let that be the trade off not my shortened life span or weakness to energy drinks.
Sigh.

May you have a speedy recovery.....filled with lots of time for you to catch up on your gaming without responsiblities in the outside world.

well i hope you get better soon and i hope that really does help your sleep apnea, cause sleep apnea is the devil.
one thing that helped my snoring, and/or my sleep apnea, was working out. especially now that i ride my bike 18 miles a day, i dont snore anymore. unless im pissed drunk.
granted, i dont know if i have sleep apnea since i never went to a sleep center and was never actually diagnosed w/it, but i have had all the symptoms at one point or another.
anyhow, i hope you have a speedy recovery and godspeed

Thanks a lot and ya, working out is key, if you get those throat muscles tightened a bit more through excercise in general it can greatly reduce sleep apnea as far as I remember.

Did you need a catheter?
That is my largest fear of having to have a major surgery some day. No tubes up the penis!

Same, no catheter, thank god. I would rather avoid surgery and never sleep again than have something shoved up my cock, that hole is a one way street.

I just got diagnosed with a deviated septum myself this past Friday. I have to call the doctor and set up the surgery for it.
It explains why my voice always sounds weird (to me), and why my left nostril was always the clogged one.
Anyway, get better soon, dude. I'll be in the same boat as you pretty soon.

Thanks and don't worry too much about the surgery. The nose is a little bit more upkeep but it didn't give me too much pain at all, just a tad sore every now and again, the worst part for the nose so far has been the irrigating of the nose it just feels so goddamn weird. Good luck with it.

I know that when I'm riding the bike at the gym I try to get by BPM to 190, and it's ridiculously uncomfortable to sustain for more then a minute or two. Normally when I sleep I can really feel my heart pound a lot faster then when I'm not trying to sleep. Does that mean your Panda problems could also be like mine? Should I get it looked at? It doesn't really effect my nights sleep just the initial dozing off.
By the way hope you feel better.

My superfast heart causes actually a lot of problems such as a weakened heart and quite possibly a shortened life span. It also speeds up my metabolism so that's neat. I'm always skinny and heal pretty damn fast.
But my problem comes from the fact that my heart has always beat unnaturally fast.
Although, several of my heart problems weren't noticed until I was put under. That's when I had bad reactions. And falling asleep my heart beats too fast sometimes.
I say check it out next time you go to the doc. All of you. Tell them you've heard tell and you want you check if your ticker is tip-top.

Thanks.
You may have heart problems, not sure if they are like mine as my heart is normally solid, it just has a short circuit in it I guess and comming out of anesthetic triggered it, like 1 in 5 people have it, you may.
I personally would have it checked out if I were you, I don't think it's too healthy to get it to 190 for even that long but I'm no heart specialist, but it sure is ridiculously uncomfortable, mine was in the 170 area for over an hour up to 2 hours i forget how long they said, i was only conscious for part of the time but fuck it sucked.
