Growing up watching G.I. Joe lead me to believe that being a soldier was awesome, and that you got some kick ass weapons, a jet pack and hung out with ninjas. Yeah you got into some heavy shit but no one ever really got shot. I mean, do you remember ever seeing a shot hit anyone in that cartoon? Not even a frag from the damn explosions going off three feet from Duke. Well when I turned 18 and joined the Marine Corps I found out that this show was total bullshit. People get shot all the time! Fuck you G.I. Joe, and your propaganda. Now I'm stuck fighting two wars, with out even the slightest bit of evidence that Cobra Commander is secretly hiding in Haditha.
Also, in 00:35 of this video, why is Duke kicking the shit out of someone when some dude is lifting weights in the background. Talk about abuse of power...wait your damn turn for the Chuck Norris Total Gym machine!

Cartoons are bullshit.
I wasted so much time eating spinach like Popeye, when I should have been taking steroids.

It could have been worse. You could have watched He-Man and decided to wear pink shirts.

Wasn't GI Joe in the Army? Therein lies the problem. You're a marine. All the ninjas and other cool shit take place in/around the Army.
Be safe, and thanks for what you've done/are doing.
Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us.

Actually there were members in GI Joe from all the services. Both Leatherneck and Beach Head where Marines. Several Navy guys from Shipwreck, Deep Six, and Wet Suit. Army you have Duke, Falcon (An Army Ranger), Stalker, and Zap. I even forgot Gung Ho was not only a Marine, but his second release figure was him in his Dress Blues. I do apologize for the lies of 80's pop culture, and I hope you get home safely and in one piece.

Some were even civilian cops (Law & Order), or was he an MP? I don't remember.
I do know one was an NFL Football player: Walter "Fridge" Perry
And, one was just a Pro Wrestler with a huge chin: Sgt. Slaughter
