This damn thing keeps telling me I have spyware, it just randomly came up after I restarted. It really annoys me because it keeps doing this.

It acts like it's a real product, but I can't do jack**** if it needs me to buy it.

Well, Spy Sweeper found it and I deleted it. It was one of those spyware things that replicate and take up memory space. So that annoying pop-up is gone, now it's just the matter of trying to un-install this thing since I already have good anti-virus stuff.

Don't you love spyware that poses as anti-spyware?

Just get Spybot S&D, and you're all good.

Get a real cleaner. The free ones are free for a reason.

I recommend Symantec. It's spendier then some, but it updates numerous times daily and does an awesome job with Viruses, Spyware, Rootkits, and all.

Nothing seems to be going on now, and those seem expensive....I might get that if I can finally get a damn job....

How are Ad-Aware SE Personal, AVG 6.0, and Spy Sweeper in your opinion? Those are ones my uncle installed on this laptop over a year ago after I had to full system restore it to default because of a virus. Hell, I don't even know how to do full system restore...

Just get MalwareBytes or BitDefender, Spybot S&D, and AdAware and run them in safe mode. That usually works.

Symantec products try to overtake your product.

It is like wearing a full body cast because you have a cut on your finger.

Spybot + Windows Defender should clear out the crap
AVG Antivirus for protection
Threatfire for protection

Nice, easy, and you retain the rights to your computer without signing your life away to Symantec's bloatware.

Symantec is probably the best for all of the above options, actually. Especially their Endpoint software.

Why? Because they said so?

I haven't tried the 2009 versions of their security products, but 2008 and prior were terrible.

I never used anything Norton related for a long time because I hated everything they offered. Memory hogs, rare updates and hard to uninstall. Symantec Endpoint 2008-2009 is great. I have put it on my backup PC and tried numerous times to give myself viruses and spyware/malware to check its capabilites and how it runs with the system and it has been pretty good. Not to say free programs are bad, but I get a lot of software for cheap here at work so it's my personal preference.

So now that you deleted it once, you'll need to do it 29 more times before it gets the spreadgun.

If you're going to delete everything, why not just reformat your computer in the first place? Rolling Eyes Worst suggestion. Ever.

You have officially lost the right to ever give technical advice anywhere.

You don't know your ass from your elbow and if anyone ever takes your advice they will end up worse off than they already were.

Please list your IP address so that I can contact your ISP and request that you be denied service for failure to use your fucking brain.
