I know that I waste some energy, but do I really waste that much? More importantly, am I paying for it?

Google tells me that I am, but my energy bill hasn't been that high.

What do you guys think? Do you unplug your consoles when you aren't playing on them? Do you unplug you microwave??? I sure as fuck don't. Cell phone charging... all fucking night.

Here is a list of how much they say it costs for common electrical items:

I am actually thinking about buying a Kill-A-Watt.

Now, I realize that more than half of the population here lives with family, friends, or a in a dorm. Still, I can't think of a group that abuses energy more than gamers and movie watchers.

I myself purposefully waste energy (not my own of course) it's part of my dastardly plan. One I call Operation:FTW. Operation:For the Win (or Operation: F*** the World.)
1. Operation:FTW
2. ???
3. Rule the World!

That Kill a Watt thing is pretty cool. I should get one. As for energy, I know I probably use a lot for leaving on my computer all day. And I don't bother unplugging any appliances ever. I do however, save water by turning the shower off when I'm lathering up sometimes. If everyone did that every day, we'd save a shit ton of water.

Would flipping the power switch off on a PS2 have any different effect than just unplugging it.

I think I'm going to get a Kill-A-Watt and actually see if it is worth it. Worst case scenario is that I end up with a cool new toy.

the ONLY things that I am willing to do to save electricity is to not run my AC all day, turn my computer moitors off when I'm not using them, and keep lights off till I need them.

unplugging microwaves and shit is just too much.

What I want to know is why they bothered to list electric tooth brushes.
