I was in Michael's, the craft store, with my wife the other day, as she had two coupons for yarn and could only use one. While she looked at the yarn, I wondered about the store, which is my standard modus operandi.
I came across the "How to Draw" books, and a copy of "How to Draw Nintendo Heroes and Villains" or some-such. I flipped through it: it was pretty much the same old draw this shape, draw that one, erase the lines stuff that populate most How to Draw books.
But then I came across the page on how to draw Bowser. Only, he wasn't named Bowser. His name, according to this book, is "Kerog".
Has Bowser ever been called Kerog? As far back as I can remember, he's always been "Bowser Koopa", "King Koopa", or "Bowser, King of the Koopas". I can't even think of another Nintendo character named Kerog that they might have mixed him up with.
It wouldn't have surprised me if it was some artifact from the eighties, or if it didn't have "Official Nintendo Licensed Product" slapped on the back cover. But it was published in 2000 and was officially licensed.
So, I have to ask--
who the fuck is Kerog?
