The Entertainment Software Ratings Board website, known to be a reliable source on up-and-coming titles; recently updated their Marvel VS Capcom 2 profile, which now lists Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 under "platforms." Of course this isn't any sort of official confirmation, but if this isn't an unforgivable typo, it would hint towards an eventual online release of MvC2 for the Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network, complete with online play?!? ... Once again, nothing is confirmed, but this does give us MvC2 fans hope that someday we will be playing Marvel VS Capcom 2 Online on our next-gen systems with friends across the world!!! Can you say Epic?

It would be VERY nice to see the arcade version with online features up on the XBLA, it would be awesome for this to be real.

This is most definitely for real. The game appeared on Microsoft's PartnerNet, which is like XBL, but for devkits, and it's top-secret.

This would be fantastic as far as online play goes, and the general increased availability of the game to fans. Only think that sucks is my ps2 copy will probably become pointless and decrease in value (though I would never sell it) I would rather have a version with online play, so this means I'll have to buy the damn thing again.

EDIT: but it will be worth it to bust you chumps up in this game Twisted Evil Cool Cool Cool Very Happy

I was getting excited, but I prefer SNK over Marvel. Different controls, different game Razz Though I like Iron Man and Server Bot. Irritating to say the least.

Capcom Vs. SNK 2 would be cool to see on XBL, it came out around the same time as MvC2 I think(Or at least within a year of each other), so I wouldn't think it would be any harder to get the arcade version of that on there.

I would assume doing capcom vs snk would actually be easier because the licensing for marvel is probably significantly more expensive than snk.

I love the fact that having a freaking million characters with a ton of original moves doesn't make the game un-balanced at all.

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.

MvC2 is not perfectly balanced

Yeah, "the big four"(Sentinel, Storm, Cable, and Magneto) are all assholes, though it's kinda funny because Sentinel is the only real god-tier guy imo. I don't think he has any bad match-ups, just a hell of alot of good matches and a select some even matches.

On another note, I hope that if this does well that Capcom will decide to release other arcade fighters of theres on XBL. Like Street Fighter III: TS, the aforementioned CvSNK2, and maybe Darkstalkers 3/Vampire Savior.

I knew Cable was a pain in the ass, but where I played Iron Man and other full screen hitters were most annoying, or those that cover their ground well. Like I said before, Server Bot, combined with someone who covers another area, like Iron, and whoever else you want can be really good too.

I usually played Guile, because hand-to-hand I was tough to beat. IF they start throwing super moves I had back up.

If it wasn't for online play, I'd just pick the games up for a Dreamcast. With the exception of Darkstalkers, they're all here.

You should totally check out the IRC channel.

The JPN Dreamcast version had online.

I usually used Colossus, Guile, and "Other."

Yea I would tend to always go against some dook using Iron Man, Warmachine and Cable. They would then proceed to spam crossover supers to the point of inducing nightmares.

Notice that the Dreamcast version isn't listed on the ESRB website. Weird.

Hopefully they are not just listing this under PS3 and XBOX 360 because the games can be played on the systems. I have been fiending some Venom, Hayato, Gambit goodness, but I don't want to pay the price.

I already have a PS2 copy, though if it's decently priced and has online mode I'll probably grab it.

That sounds pretty sweet, I work at an arcade and always beat people down at this game. I have yet to lose and I've probably netted more money playing this game (along with MVC1 and Marvel Vs. Street Fighter) than I have from working Smile It would be awesome to see how I fare against the rest of the world.

Thank god for Capcom.

Good luck being awesome when the lag kicks in for the first time. I was laughing at people when I was playing Soul Calibur 4. Then the lag kicked in and I couldn't do anything but get my ass stomped.

So what would be the file size for this game? Am I correct in assuming there'd be no possible way to download it on dial-up?

Guile Cammy and Dahlsim can be a formidable team if you use them right.

Thats too much SF for my tastes, I have to mix it up with some Marvel love.

XBL and PSN both require WiFi.

It's possible they might release a Wii retail version, but unlikely since Capcom vs. Tetsuko is going to the Wii and MvC2 is probably a consolation prize for the other systems.
