My fellow Sydlexian's, our esteemed Administrator and Owner Syd Lexia, and our honored Moderators,

I bring to you a suggestion that may spare this community some needless thread derailment.

I kindly request that you amend rule #7 of the Basic rules for the SydLexia.com forums.

As quoted below, the current rule bans four words and phrases from the site.

7. Banned word and phrases

The following words and phrases are banned: ima, prolly, Carson Daly is not a homo, sammich. If you break this rule, expect a polite but firm written warning. Repeated violations of this rule may lead to you being banned.

I seek to have this rule modified to include a fifth item.

The combination of letters I wish to see removed from the pages of these forums is "adleast".

Unfortunately this misspelling of the two words "at least" is no longer used by accident, but instead has become a form of slang that is staining the pages of the great Sydlexian forums.

It would be a great shame if this deliberate ignorance was allowed to continue. I beg of you, please save us from this awful intentional typo.

Adleast sounds like the cheapest advertising agency in the world that only makes shitty one sentence long advertisements with shitty slogans like "the premiere choice in gaming" or something. I want to tack on a rider to that bill: $30 million of taxpayer money to support the perverted arts. All in favor of the amended adleast/pervert bill?

Count me as a supporter of GPFontaine's suggestion. True, we could just let people who use stupid e-sayings like adleast go one with it and roll our collective eyes, but I've seen the repercussions of letting this sort of thing slide.

I've seen students write lol and omg in a response essay.

I'm all for letting fucktards be fucktards, but I do enjoy this fantastic little corner of the internet, and would prefer that it not get dicked up with overly stupid e-speak.

It's a trend to others, but thats just how I spell it. So, you can't blame me for anyone using the word "Adleast".

Re: Adleast. Of all the things to get upset about, as far as current/potential problems with the forums are concerned (which may I add, are significantly fewer and further between than they were a year ago around here....there's honestly not much to whine about these days), you pick that?

I agree with GP, it is pretty annoying. What makes it worse is that he tries to justify the way he spells it because it's just the way he chooses to spell it. It's one thing to make a typo / grammar mistake unintentionally, but doing something wrong over and over again doesn't make it right and just makes you look like a complete moron.
