I just finished watching this. I hadn't heard a lot about this movie. I didn't know if it was supposed to be garbage or good. To tell you the truth, after I was done watching it, I still wasn't sure. I can only tell you my personal opinion.

It reminded me of the kind of cop movies that come on in the middle of the night on showtime or cinemax (maybe HBO on a rare occasion) that most people think is garbage but I seem to usually enjoy.

So while I'm not sure it will be a popular movie, and the acting was a little unbalanced, I liked it. It may not be a masterpiece, but I enjoyed it and would have no problem watching it again.

It's a pretty popular movie, it's number 1 at blockbuster right now where I am I believe.

I was fairly dissapointed. It was ok, but for some solid star power(Forest Whittaker, Hugh Laurie, I guess Keanu Reeves) it left something to be desired.

I really couldn't care about the street, or the people who rule it. Unless they rule the street with their skill in martial arts.

I just rented this because of this thread. I was happily surprised. I thought this went straight to video cause I never heard of it. But it's a tough, fun Hollywood cop movie. Fuckin' A.

I knew Keanu and Forest were in it, but then the cast kept coming. House showed up as House, Chris Evans showed up as Scott Speedman, Jay Mohr, Cedric the Entertainer!? Holy crap! Awesome.

More action than I thought there would be and happily unrealistic. Keanu rapes it in the face.

I have to say David Ayer earned my respect. I just found out he also wrote Dark Blue which I LOVED (and could be the brother film to this one).
David Ayer > Tony Gilroy.

I just watched this OnDemand on Saturday. I throughly enjoyed.

Like Tebor, I had no idea Dr. House was in the movie until he showed up onscreen. I was psyched.

I also agree that it was very remiscent of Dark Blue.

Why is it that you always finding yourself rooting for the corrupt cop in these films?

To tell you the thruth, I was psyched about Hugh Laurie, but afterward, I really didn't think he fit as a cop (IA or whatever the fuck). His acting wasn't bad. I just didn't think it fit.

I don't think I'm typecasting him. Maybe I'm just generalizing what I think a cop should be like.

That's why he's a great doctor and a cop.
