I can't find the adapter or the second controller for my Dreamcast. I can't remember what the adapter looks like. Can someone with a Dreamcast get me a photo?

When you say adapter, do you mean AC adapter, like the power cord?

Yeah, something that plugs into the Dreamcast and then plugs into a wall socket.

It's just the little two hole connecter, like you would find on box fan, or the ones that go into most laptop power bricks.

It's also interchangable with the Playstation's (The original) and the Saturn's.

I believe that both the PS2 cords will work.
I think they are the same.

It's my old Dreamcast I bought, and apparently the wires have been lost since I moved back from Miami. It definitely was intact at one point, so they will be in the hosue SOMEWHERE, but it's probably slightly harder if you don't know exactly what you're looking for.

You want Pics of the A/V and Power cords? Lemme go take some pics then. BTW, I'm pretty sure a PSX power cords works fine. Actually any power cord with the same shape'll work. Pics in five (or longer).

Edit: damn camera won't take good close ups. Anyways, look at where the cord would plug into your DC, that's what kind of cord you need. The connector is kind of square and circle. The A/V connector is very similar to the PSX one.

Yeah, I also noticed the similarity. A PSX or a PS2 cord will work fine, they are the same.

the are most certainly not hte same. the dreamcast's AV cord was proprietary. it looks just like the playstation one, but wont fit.

After turning my house upside down looking for the AV cord, power adapter, and my second controller, I caved and got them off eBay last night. Worst case scenario, I find them and then I have spare cords and a third controller.

well actually, worst case scanrio is that they're defective and cause a giant fire.

I'm pretty sure that a PS2's cords will work with a Dreamcast, hell I use a phone charger cable to charge my PS3 controllers.

thats because the ps3 uses plain old mini usb cables to charge, which some phones use as well.

the dreamcast does not share cables with the playstation.

Yeah, I know the power cables between the Dreamcast and Playstation are the same, but as for the A/V cables, I'm pretty sure they're different. I could go check, but I'm not going to. You're gonna just have to trust me on this one. End of thread.
