No school for the remainder of this week for me, YAY! I just hope my house is still around after the week is over, though.

If you had the same engineering class I have, you'd REALLY want to have the week off as well. Too much homework in that course. Man, this is the best week EVER! I love hurricanes!

There's still that fake oil shortage though.
Hurricanes hit the gulf every year. MULTIPLE hurricanes. No gouge in oil prices. I call BS.

oil is going to go up to 5 dollars a gallon here in utah
oh my drivers ed teacher said that a car that rus on air is going to be realesed in 2010
it is fast
it is cheap to refill
and they are worcking on a way to make it fill itself up while going
so the most you would spend on it fuel wise is 10 dollars a year
oh and my uncle aunt and cousins live down there =(

I have a car that runs on hot air. It's powered by your driver's ed teacher.

There is a car to run on air, but not the way it was described. It is pneumatic pistons that then run the drive train. In terms of "refilling" my understanding was it was more like recharging of sorts, not just the tank of compressed air that it has, but also the generator that runs the compressor that fills and essentially runs the engine after the intial blast of compressed air has run out. Not sure on all the specifics, but I did see the vehicle on Discovery, it is an odd European looking people carry (van). Yeah, I know I don't know why they call vans people carriers either.

Ya know, I'm still wondering whether this latest hurricane was named after President Eisenhower or Kyle Broflovski's brother on South Park.

One bad thing about Ike. It's being used as the cause for the oil shortage to gouge the prices up.
How many hurricanes hit the Gulf EVERY year?
How many of those cause oil problems?
It's so obvious they're probably laughing at us for accepting this as the cause. Isn't most of our oil supposedly imported anyway? Like 80%?
When the government petition for their help to ease oil prices, remember they're the ones that caused this in the first place.

Gas jumped from 3.51 to 4.00 is just a few hours.
Luckily I knew about it so I filled up my car (and my grandmas) before it happened.

No, this is actually true. There's a company in France working on a car that works by mixing a little gasoline with an engine that runs on compressed air. It's supposedly going to be able to get 100 mpg. I watched a doc about this on the Discovery Channel.

Some kid in my town spray-painted over a board that was put over his garage saying, "Take a hike, Ike!" Good thing putting up those boards was a waste of energy, because I've GOT nothing from this hurricane besides humidity. Seriously, I'm scratch-free as of now!

I wish you had to work a real job for a week. You would begin to love school. The ability to just learn new shit every day and not have to pay for anything.
Oh man... that really sounds like a crappy situation.
Of all the people in the world, you need to really take school seriously.

ARGH! Because of Ike, my math professor has postponed our first test to one week from now when it was originally scheduled for this Thursday. Why do I hate this? Because my first test in chemistry was scheduled for next Tuesday, the same day, and that HASN'T been changed.
FUCK YOU IKE!
