I think it's cynical and sad. It's obvious that they chose her primarily to court the female vote. Then it strikes me as pretty damned sexist that they say she shouldn't be criticised during debates, which must have Susan B. Anthony rolling in her grave.

I really hate what she represents in terms of hoping for gender equality (yeah, I'm a dude saying women should be treated equally, who cares). They outright lie on her record on the bridge, her command of the national guard, and her "Russia foreign policy" pantload, among many others. Then they claim Biden can't pick on her during debates, calling it "sexism." Yeah, she's a shining example to all women that you can only succeed if you completely bend yourself to the will of a patriarchal establishment in order to boost their power. That's really feminine empowerment.
