I was looking at DS RPGs on Amazon and this came up as a suggested title. Anyone play it? It came out about a year ago and the sequel is coming out next month. It's basically Harvest Moon with some dungeon crawling thrown in. Sounds fairly cool to me, but I wanted to see if anyone else had anything to say about it.

I own it. It's really addicting if you like the Harvest Moon thing, especially since the monsters drop items that you can use back at your place to make new items or sell for profit. It's also fun in that you can chose which aspect of the game you want to persue. You can spend years ("game years," that is) just farming without messing with the dungeon-crawling stuff, or you can ignore the farming (for the most part) and persue the fighting aspect instead.

It's really, really great fun. Then again, this is coming from a girl. Confused

Sounds like World of Warcraft minus the other people.

Harvest Moon isn't necessarily a "girl game". I have a friend who's addicted to the fucking game, and I think it's pretty OK. Not my cup of tea, mind you, but pretty OK.

It looks like some kind of steampunk crap. I have it on this SuperO DS card. It's really japanified and with loli girl-boy lameness.

Add that in with the fact that I fucking hate Harvest Moon, and, well, there's my two cents. I tried to play Harvest Moon for 30 minutes and didn't get through the fucking intro dialogue, I just quit there.

Girls do seem to love it, which is kinda weird because in the vast majority of the HM games, you play as a guy. And in some of them, you could marry underage girls. Pretty sure they took that feature out of international versions though, because even though the game takes place in a historical setting where that sort of stuff actually happened, I don't see Western audiences taking to kindly to that. Well, except 4chan.
