The film, which largely took place in the year 2015, introduced viewers to many a futuristic wonder, but none were so iconic as the light blue high-tops worn by Michael J. Fox. Ever since the film premiered, folks have been begging Nike to produce the shoes for the masses. Now, Nike has finally obliged... sort of.

The shoes were recently revealed at an event headlined by Kobe Bryant. Ever the showman, the hoopster even arrived in a DeLorean. Fans lined up way in advance, but according to Wired, many went home disappointed. Nike only made 350 pairs of the specially designed kicks, not nearly enough to satisfy the fans.

The shoes were released in a very limited quality, but for hardcore fans who were shut out, there's always the capitalist slaughterhouse that is eBay. Pairs are currently going for up to $1,000 (power laces not included). As Doc Brown would say, "Great Scott!"

Sorry, I couldn't help it. I have a buddy who ALWAYS says that.

Anyhow, I'd love to have a pair. But there is no way in hell, I'd drop a grand on a pair of kicks. I'll also add that it pisses me off probably more than anything else in the world when these scavengers buy up any limited products just to sell on ebay while people who actually want them can't get them.

Hopefully, they'll make more. I need a pair of these.

I'd get them anyways. Regardless of power laces, they still look cool. And a keen eye would be able to pick them out when you are out in public. You're walking in the mall or something and some dickweed yells out, "Look its the Air McFlys." You damn right its the Air McFlys.

I hope they have Size 13's in those. I don't give a fuck how much it costs-- I just wanna wear those. Also, I love wearing hi-tops.

Next time they get released I will be ready. Shoe companies do this shit all the time. They release old shoes and special edition shoes in small quantities. There is usually more people than there are shoes. I've been to like 5 shoe releases and I only got shoes at one of them. They were Jordan 4's one pair white and blue and the other black on black.

They only made 350 pairs, and of course Kobe Bryant got his hands on some. The man gets shoes made for him, for free. Maybe he is a big BTTF Fan, maybe not, but damn let the rest of us get a chance. And Nike, though making only 350 may be shrewd business wise right now, it still sucks for the rest of us, power laces or not. Now where's my fucking hoverboard.
