Alright, everybody hates Jar Jar Binks and loves C3PO and R2D2. But what about comic relief characters in 80's cartoons? According to what I read the new live-action MOTU movie won't feature Orko and most commenters on the web seemed to be glad about that. That makes me wonder: Does anybody actually like characters such as Orko, Snarf or Slimer?

IMO Orko = Blah, Snarf = Pure Genius favorite Thundercats character besides Cheetarah, Slimer = Ecto Cooler great Hi-C drink.

That's true, but most comic relief characters get to do more than providing funny moments at one time or another. The fact that they usually don't basically compels writers to write episodes where the character isn't just decorum for a change.

I liked Scuzz from Bravestarr. Would Starscream count as comic relief?

Isn't Michelangelo comic relief? He actually helps doesn't he?
Yes from TMNT.

I'm so bananas I'm showing up to your open casket,
to fill it up with explosive gases,
and close it back,
with a lit match in it,
while I sit back, and just hope it catches.

Blow you to fragments,
laugh,
roll you, and smoke the ashes.

Bebop and Rocksteady were comic relief. So was the retarded Ninja Turtle that they created.

That'd be Spike. Don't forget Irma.

Hey, Artoo and Threepio have some pretty ridiculous cartoon adventures of their own in the Droids cartoon! I've not seen it myself, but since it was aimed at kids and from what I've read about the plots and screencaps I've seen, I wouldn't be surprised if they just crack terrible jokes the whole time.

If it weren't for Okro, He-Man's sword would have been lost forever in that rock people episode where they throw it down the bottomless pit.

That said, I don't think they HAVE to put him in the movie. For all we know, he is just doing something else. I'm sure he wasn't in every single episode of the cartoon.

I think Orko having a cameo wouldn't be a bad thing. Just don't give him a relevant plot part.

I don't think the story would need to involve him to make for a good movie.

Shit, half the characters from Captain N were comic relief. Though those two were the main ones (along with Simon Belmont), I thought Mother Brain was just as funny (though not as inept).

I've got the complete series on DVD. I like it. But I can completely understand why somebody wouldn't. It also may have lasted a season longer than it should have.

Whatever the Princess was hot! That and the series got me incredibly infatuated with the Four Seasons song "Walk like a Man".

By buddy cut the cord off his zapper and a NES controller made a controller belt with a holster.

Yeah, pretty much. That's awesome. That is pretty much what it looked like only with the holster for the zapper.

Yeah, agreed. Captain N was all about how a nerd can have a chance with the Prom Queen. It's just the metaphor got a little out of hand. Rolling Eyes

Prom queen?

If a girl walked down a city street wearing what she wore I bet you anything that people would be pulling over asking "how much?".

I think Captain N was all about how a slacker kid with no money gets to be in the movie "Pretty Woman".

Though I love them, would the Dreadnocks, minus the badass Zartan. They were fairly funny as well. And what about Brainy smurf. Annoying yes, but funny. Also, T-Bob from M.A.S.K. Last but not least, Mutley in Wacky Races, have to love that laughing well mutt.
