I got this for my GameCube a couple days ago. I'm almost done with Megaman 1 but I got killed by that darn Robot Copy boss and I got pissed. I threw my TV remote and the range is screwed (I have to get like within a foot and a half in order to use it at all, which defeats the purpose of having a remote if you have to get closer to it). I dunno why I did that though, I normally handle my anger much better than that. I need to spend some cash on a new universal remote sometime.
But anyway yeah, this game is great. Who else has it?

I used to have it, but it replaced it with the X Collection.

I'd like to get that sometime if I ever stumble upon it at a GameStop or anywhere else. I still have my SNES and I even prefer playing old-school games the original way (for the controllers, mainly), but Megaman X 2 and 3 are a bitch to find.

Use the electric beam on the clone. It does the most damage, it's easier for you to dodge it when he throws it back at you, and you can use the pause trick.

The pause trick is a cheap glitch. I'M NO CHEATER!!! (Actually, I used it a lot during Yellow Devil and Dr. Wily, so I'm lying.)

Dii Infer: You can get both X2 and X3 on amazon and probably ebay, but they're expensive.

That's another reason why I'd rather buy the collection.

I can beat Yellow Devil with just the mega buster.

You aren't at all annoyed that the positions of the "jump" and "fire" buttons are reversed with the GCN version of Megaman Anniversary Collection? Classically, "fire" is left of "jump" in Megaman games, but for whatever reason, Atomic Planet got it reversed for the GCN port. In contrast, the PS2 version of the game maintains that classic control set-up, and the Xbox version even lets you configure the control layout to your liking. By the way, does the GCN version have the remixed music when you play with "Navi Mode" enabled? I've heard conflicting reports on whether or not the remixed tracks were absent in the GCN version.

That pissed me off too. In retrospect, I wish I would have got the PS2 version. But for whatever reason, I was thinking that since they were orignally released on a Nintendo console, I would get it for a Nintendo Console. Big mistake. I have the hardest time with it just because of this.

I've gotten used to the controls, honestly. At first it was annoying but I eventually got used to them.
I dunno for sure about Navi Mode and the remixed tracks, though. I never use that feature.

Remixed tracks are pretty sweet, not a fan of Navi Mode though.

Never used the pause glitch in my life(I don't remember doing so, anyway).
I had it for the Xbox and beat every single game on it. T'was an awshum collection.
I never owned the X Collection, but an old college roommate of mine had it. I beat the first four games.
Now that I compare it to the present, it suddenly seems very sad that Megaman 9 may never be connected with the other games in a unified CD assortment. Ah, well, whatever.
Oh, and DOO-SHAY(honestly, why is that your title?), whats with that new mission in life? You trying to beat a megaman game or invent a hookshot?

It happened when Val made the similarity to Touche and Douche, it would seem that Douche would sound like Doo-Shay. And that is M3GA MAN...er, I mean Megaman getting whipped.

People who say they never used the pause glitch either have never beat Megaman or are lying.
The demon is beatable, but the clone is damn near impossible without it.

I've done it on cartridge and emulator. The sad thing is, it was probably a good 5 years or more after I first played it that I finally beat MM3 without using the zombie cheat.

It only works on Mega Man 1. It helps if you use Elecman's weapon. Shoot at somebody and pause the game, that's one hit. Then quickly unpause and pause again and it counts as another hit. Keep doing it until the boss is dead or the lighting has passed the boss.

You're all liars.
(and you can do the pause glitch with some success with fireman's weapon too. It helps on Wily, but it's not needed)

Actually, I'm the complete opposite. I depend on the pause trick to kill Yellow Devil but I managed to finish off the clone with the buster alone.

Pause trick is still in the Anniversary collection.
Also Yellow Devil is a douche bag in that game.

Ah, the Anniversary collection. My NES system had broekn down some 15-17 years ago, I was never able to play a single NES Mega Man game until the summer of 2004. I have very fond memories of nostalgia and such upon getting that collection. Honestly the "Jump" and "fire" switch didn't bother me so much cos it had been years since I had played the games anyway. Ever since I bought that collection, I have proceeded to beat each of the classic games a thousand times (well not 7 or 8 cos they kinda suck) and playing them has still not gotten old.
