I just wanted to thank Syd and Douche for hosting the NES championship. I am having a lot of fun with it and I appreciate all of the time and effort that they have put into this event. I must apologize to Douche, however, as some of my videos had a less than spectacular frame rate. Kudos to both of you on the success of this event. I sure do hope that it will happen again in the future.

You present good points here, except that it's not a BJ and I can't eat it. I guess I just appreciate the efforts that Douche and Syd have put into this contest. I kind of feel bad for Douche too, having to go through all those videos. That has to suck. But I suppose the contest could still go awry, but I doubt that. And why the hell can't I give early praise for such an event?

I'll say this about the NES Championships, it's making the video game world get a lot of "firsts", that SMB Challenge being a good example.
Maybe with a little promotion we could have a huge one the next time we have one. People love to show their skills and the challenges are unique enough that I bet some of the tasks have never been tried(and recoreded maybe) before.
The Double Dragon 3 challenge I think lands here. No sane person plays the game without switching characters.

Thank you spanky for getting us back off topic!
The idea I pitched Syd was that we'd have scoring AND challenge rounds, but then it just sort of evolved into what can we get you guys to do in a game that isn't normal. I like the way it's going now. For the TMNT challenge, after it started, I thought playing as one Turtle and seeing how far you can get without changing would have been fun. Like "Farthest you can get with only using Raph."
...That would have been awesome....

I think one of the reasons I'm enjoying this event is that the challenges are so diverse and test your real gaming skills and abilities. Shit, on the SMB challenge I didn't think a zero coin run was possible. But then I forgot that you can do crazy shit like squeeze between walls. Damn you zero coiners!!
