My latest article is on my top five Futurama episodes. Give it a read and let me know what you think.

That list would be my list down to a T. (Whatever the fuck that expression means.) Good choice on Luck of the Fryish. The ending to that episode is, in my opinion, the best episode to any TV show i have ever seen. I don't know why I feel that way but I think i connected to it personally. And yeah, futurama was an excellent show. It's really too bad that they only made 72 episodes (not counting the movies.) It is on the list of things I want to come back, along with squarer cars and Calvin and Hobbes comics. How can I not love the show that produced this?:
I saw this and laughed for at least 10 minutes. I think it has to do with Zoidberg's reaction.

I love the movies but I still prefer the episodic format of the original run. The stories in the movies are well done but I'd rather see one half hour story and have it be over instead of three episodes that make one movie.
I prefer individual stories/episodes. I mean what happens if you catch the last episode of Bender's Big Score? You'd have no idea what went on in the other parts. I prefer the episodic format because you can have a self contained story and it does not require you to see the previous parts.

Bender's Big Score is one of the greatest films ever made, in the same league as Jaws, The Princess Bride and Scooby-Doo And The Goblin King. Yeah, that last one surprised me, too.

I love the movies like I said before but I'd rather them just go back to doing episodes like in the original run. Maybe do regular episodes and then do a movie every so often as a special of something.

solid job, major props for including Luck of the Fryish and Where no Fan has Gone Before, those are my top favorites as well.
I think its ironic that probably the best episode had the original cast of Star Trek as the plot. like you said the episode was a winner because of the good writing but I also think it helped having Lela,Fry and Bender as the main characters and not forcing in Zoidberg or the Professor. You know this episode is good when your talking to a girl at a coffee shop and she whips out the "Welshy" reference.
The Professor is hilarious is some episodes, but in some he is a unneeded character.
Zoidberg is probably the gem of the serious along with Bender, yet even he can get on my nerves at times because I can only take so much gross out humor in a 30 minute time frame.

Yeah I think that episode deserves a nod in the top 5
I would consider taking off one of these two
Roswell That Ends Well is really just a Zoidberg episode, it is definately a memorable one, yet Fry going back in time to fuck his grandmother was just a little too stupid for me to enjoy. This is a top 10, but not a top 5 IMHO
Anthology of Interest II was cool, but could have been done better, the writers should have hired DarkMaze if they wanted some killer video game references.

I would have included "The Devil's Hands Are Idle Playthings" instead "Roswell That Ends Well", but otherwise I agree.
Any episodes that include Zapp Branigan are always great, especially the planet of amazon women one and the one where he gets dishonorably discharged from the army.

The last three were amazing, but I loved that one episode with Richard Nixon becoming president.

Enjoyed it immensely, Trek is my favorite episode too, by far.

"CHANGE PLACES!!!"
I haven't watched Futurama in a long time but that line always cracks me up. I have to admit that despite the heavy amount of Zoidberg in "Roswell that ends well" my favorite scene would have to be when President Truman bursts out of that wooden crate.

My favorite would be the "lucky clover" one. It was just a well-done episode.
The Roswell one, though, has the rant from Farnsworth that always makes me laugh. The "Screw history!" one.

I found Jurassic Bark to be too preachy, but that may just be me.

It is hard though, they're all so good.
I know, that is one of my favorite episodes too but I stick by my top five. If I ever do a top 10 that episode will surely be listed. I know I'd put The Devil's Hands Are Idle Playthings and The Sting on there as well if I did a top 10.

Good list and great write up. This is far and away my favorite show ever created. I have to say though, I'm disapointed that "Mechanical House" didn't make the list. Anything that makes fun of "Good Will Hunting" is the tops in my book. Robot House!
No, I don't think I will fuck Stummies.

Luck of The Fryish is hard to explain why it is so emotional. From what I get from the ending is that jealously is a wasted emotion and it can be a dangerous one too. It is not until the end Fry realizes how much of asshole he has been that whole episode and that his brother loved him even though they would always fight as kids. I think the emotional part is that Fry's jealously/anger made him forget about the good times he had with his brother and that his nephew was named after him.
