Ok, the music forum is being terribly neglected, so let's all list our 5 favorite songs from the year we were born.

5. John Cougar - Hurts So Good

4. Dexy's Midnight Runners - Come On Eileen

3. Men At Work - Down Under

2. Micheal Jackson - Beat It

1. Black Sabbath - Paranoid

2. AC/DC - For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)
3. The Rolling Stones - Hang Fire
4. Van Halen - Unchained
5. The Ramones - We Want The Airwaves

Paranoid was also on Black Sabbath's 1982 release "Live Evil".
And besides, if I didn't use that song, I'd have to put "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me" by Culture Club. And as much as I like Family Guy, there's no way in hell.

If that's really the only thing you have to contribute to knock off The Rainbow Connection, then maybe someone SHOULD get you a doctor.

That wasn't a dig at you, I just hate Van Halen.

Haha, don't worry about it. But yeah, I'm a bit older than 17. It's funny; although Syd has been my friend longer than anyone, I hate nearly every band he loves, and I can't STAND most of the 1980's.

I enjoy some metal, just like I enjoy some rock, and some pop, and some classical, and even some rap. Just no country. That shit sucks.

And i realize you aren't probably a kid, you obviously aren't if you were born in 79!

Where'd you get 79 from? I was born in 81.

I used to be indifferent about country, until my 1st grade year (I figured out it sucked ass pretty early on in my life) when I was in my friend's mom's car, and I heard a song about a man who goes to Mc Donalds, gets chicken nuggets, drives 2 hours, and then turns around and drives back because he forgot to thank the "waitress" that handed them to him. This is how I figured out that the only people who like country are either from Deliverance, or want to move there.

"Jessie's Girl" - Rick Springfield
"Living in America" - James Brown
"Mean Street" - Van Halen
"Physical" - Olivia Newton-John
"Unchained" - Van Halen

I had to check wikipedia for songs from 1981 (I wanted to include Crazy Train but that was from 1980). I haven't heard all of these but from the group I could find they sounded the most appealing.
