I need to slow down DOS Box in order to get a game to run properly in it. I know it's done by making a custom .conf file and that involves changing the cycle count, but I'm still not entirely sure what I have to do. Does anyone have experience with this?

Argh, it's been a long time but I think you can do it more easily than that. I seem to recall you can just add a parameter when running the EXE file to set the cycle count. Lemme see if I can find more info...

Ah, here we go, there's shortcut keys:

CTRL-F11 - Slow down emulation (decrease DOSBox cycles)
CTRL-F12 - Speed up emulation (increase DOSBox cycles)
