Anyone have or know someone who has a "retarded" phobia (by that I mean it doesn't make sense)

I actually have a fear of dandelions.
Now isn't that retarded?

while I sit back, and just hope it catches.

roll you, and smoke the ashes.

I knew someone in school who said she was afraid of mashed potatoes. She's a vacuous waste of space. I'm sure someone could have used that genetic material and come up with something a little more productive than her.

In a way, each of us has an El Guapo to face. For some, shyness might be their El Guapo. For others, a lack of education might be their El Guapo. For us, El Guapo is a big, dangerous man who wants to kill us. But as sure as my name is Lucky Day, the people of Santa Poco can conquer their own personal El Guapo, who also happens to be *the actual* El Guapo!

As for retarded phobias... When I'm in the shower, I'm afraid to watch my hair, cuz I might open my eyes and find somebody standing there.

I don't know anyone with dysmorphophobia, but I imagine in this PC world it would not be well received.

I'm kind of a germophobe......especially concerning poop.

Hence, I am pretty OCD about wiping my ass. In fact, I really detest taking a dump and not taking a shower immediately after. I will only do so in an emergency......otherwise I'll take great pains to hold it in.

I know a guy who won't take a dump in a public bathroom, he waits until he gets home everytime. I couldn't do that man, when you gotta go, you gotta go!

I myself freak out and flail my limbs wildly if I touch a slug.

A girl at my school was afraid of WRISTS. She always wore a million of those little wristbands, i think it was to cover her wrists.

lol......I remember reading about a really rare mental disorder where people have a hatred for one of their own limbs, and will seek to have it removed. Such as an arm or a leg.

One guy wanted his leg removed, but no doctor would do it. So he laid out on a train track, and let the train cut his leg off.

I have arachnophobia. One time I came home late from university and when I went into my room, there was a giant spider sitting on the wall. I froze immediately. It was too late to ask somebody to help me out and I was way to afraid of the thing to remove it. So I decided to do what every man in my situation would do - to get drunk. I grabbed a bottle of wine and a chair and sat down in front of the spider to keep an eye on it. I opened the bottle and started to down the wine while anxiously watching every move of the spider. When I finally felt courageous enough to attack the beast, I grabbed a broom and ran towards the spider screaming Braveheart-style.

I missed a lecture the next day and the remains of the spider left an ugly black spot on the wall, but that can't take away from the feeling of victory I felt that night.

It's not a retarded phobia if it's a reasonable phobia. Those fucking spiders are disgusting and terrifying.

I'm also heavily arachnophobic, but that isn't a retarded phobia. Spiders are soulless killing machines that need to be destroyed. And they keep building webs right outside my bedroom window. "Mmm, what a wonderful day, I'll pull my curtains back and enjoy the - OH MY GOD!"

I tend to be afraid of most bugs, actually. Spiders and wasps I'm legitimately afraid of, but as for other bugs, I think it just comes down to twitchiness. When I see something moving on the ground that I don't expect, it startles me, and I jump, and it APPEARS that I'm afraid, when I'm actually just incredibly nervous. It's probably because I'm inside most of the time and when I go outside I'm not used to it, and then when there are bugs inside it's doubly unexpected.

I don't think I have any other "phobias", though. I certainly don't have any hilarious ones like a fear of long words.

Bugs in general don't bother me, UNLESS they are of the stinging/biting variety. In that case, my judgement is swift and harsh.

The Hair one Syd mentioned is common, it's all Alfred Htichcock's fault. Mad

I dont have a phobia of, but do HATE large groups of people. Especially at the mall, I want to take a cattle prod when I go. But concerts are fine for some reason, its just large groups of shoppers I detest. Confused

surprised nobody has mentioned a phobia related to the mentally challenged (EDIT: surprised because of the title - someone has to take advantage of ambiguous wording), so I'll bring one up: In Slingblade, Doyle can't eat in front of retarded people OR midgets. Not sure if that counts as a phobia, but I just wanted to ramble.=

Oh, and I'm afraid of heights.

I hate buttons, and am mildly afraid of loose/detached threads. (On clothes, not forums)

I don't mind high places but I have a fear of falling. Like when you sleep and you twitch 'cuz you forget where you are on the bed and think that you will fall off.

I have a fear of Styrofoam, If there is packaging with styrofoam in it I have to have someone else unpackage it. I hate the sound, I hate the feel, I hate everything about it. So in essence I am afraid of it. I am also extremely afraid of drowning. If I had to label the ways I would want to "go out" drowning would be dead last, right after slow dismemberment.
