So today I was surfing through the free movies offered to me OnDemand via Comcast and I saw Black Dahlia. I assumed it was the 2007 Brian De Palma movie, which I never got around to seeing, so I decided to give a try. Unfortunately, this was a crappy 2006 horror movie that I could only watch for about 15 minutes. The acting is terrible, the production values are terrible, it's just completely awful. It's like when you accidentally flip on public access and they're showing the movies the kids in local high school's A/V class made.

I defy anyone to watch this movie in its entirety. You won't make it.

I was reading some unsolved serial murder cases and some speculate that the person who killed the actress in this case may be the same person responsible or the Clevand Torso Murders aka The Mad Butcher of Kingsbury Run and some also bleive the case is linked to Chicagos Red Lipstick Murders, who they convicted a 17 year old boy, William Heirens of. All of these cases are potentially linked some think.

Just a bit of trivia.

I's suprised Albert DeSalvo didn't confess to the murder.

I've watched Blair Witch 2. Blair Witch 2 would have been good if they had actually bothered to film a proper ending.

And Blair Witch 2 wasn't shot on video.

See, I had the same experience with BW2, I couldn't make it 30 minutes. I don't really mind the recorded on video stuff, I watch a lot of 80's samurai flicks and some of the more cheaply done Asian extreme movies. I'm somewhat masochistic when it comes to watching really bad movies. I think the thing that pissed me off about BW2 is the fact that it had production value and still sucked. The shitty video sometimes is a reminder to me to not take the movie seriously.

Here's the trailer: http://www.videodetective.com/titledetails.aspx?publishedid=35025

Notice that the trailer doesn't show any dialogue. That's because the dialogue is awful. Also, the main villain is a complete rip-off of Sherri Moon's character House of 1000 Corpses/The Devil's Rejects.

Wow that does look awful. I'm definitely going to watch it now. Sometimes you just have to see how bad a movie can be and still be released... through Lionsgate none the less.

I never understood that until I saw the videos that were released between the first and second Blair Witch, Curse of the Blair Witch, and Massacre of the Burkitsville Seven. It may not make Blair Witch 2 any better, but it does make it make more sense and explains why it wasn't made like the first. Its actually supposed to be a movie based on "actual" events that were highlighted in The Massacre of the Burkitsville Seven mockumentary.

Blair Witch 2 is fucking awesome because it's an actual movie. Now, as scamrock points out the expanded mythology of the Blair Witch in every carnation is better than the films. Curse of the Blair Witch is better than the first movie. "The Burkitsville 7" and "Shadow of the Blair Witch" are both better than the second movie. The books by D.A. Stern blow them all away.

Okay, I'm sort of Blair Witch nut.
Blair

Anyway, Syd, you totally made me want to see this crappy Black Dahlia film. Twisted Evil

I loved how thye called it the blair witch when one of the main legends was of a man molesting and murdering young children, blair WIZARD maybe, but that doesn't sound as cool.

Or was it jus tthat this child killer was living in the house haunted by the blair witch and it made him do it? i forget the ligends, but I do agree they are interesting
