I was obsessed for a while. But then I started drinking Coke again and it all went to hell in a handbasket.

I was on Cross Country and Track back when I was in Jr. High.
The last time I ran a race was in 1994.
Back then for Cross Country I was running 3.2 miles.
For Track I was running the Mile & Half Mile.
My best time for track was 5:59:23. And I was so fucking happy I broke the 6 minute marker.
I haven't run a timed mile since. I guarantee I could kill that time though now. Maybe I'll test it out soon.
As for just running for distance and fun, I get too bored too quickly now and after skiing moguls for a number of years my knees just can't take it for long distances.
But more power to you Forest, enjoy your jogs and laugh as you save gas money.

Not too long really. About six months of some serious shit. I had cut out Coke completely for close to a year. I don't remember what made me fall off the wagon, but I started woofing down fast food and soda pop like nobody's business. I was running less and less frequently. But for a while, I would just go and run at the track. I didn't even keep track of how far I was running.
Then..."I decided to run across the great state of Alabama."

i only liked running when i ran w/a soccer ball. otherwise i would get bored/distracted/tired too quickly. while dribbling the soccer balll, it kept me focused on keeping control on the ball so i wouldnt get tired too quickly.

Or when you were getting chased by the cops.

Done it before, they don't find it funny. They said they had justified cause to handcuff me for acting suspicious, apparently there was a break in, in the current neighborhood. It's a lot harder to loose the cops then videogames advertise.
I really need to get back on the in shape wagon, I was just like scam, I had cut pop and fast food out completely then all of a sudden it came rushing back.
Anyone know the quickest/easiest way to shed some inches off the waist?

Well an easy way IMO is swiming 'cuz you don't feel hot exercising in water, though I'm not sure if this would be a quick way to lose weight.
Have you thought about liposuction?

I'm so bananas I'm showing up to your open casket,
to fill it up with explosive gases,
and close it back,
with a lit match in it,
while I sit back, and just hope it catches.
Blow you to fragments,
laugh,
roll you, and smoke the ashes.

We used to do stuff like that. I don't know if we did it with the cops. But we would either do exactly what you said, or when we seen somebody, stop short point at them like you were watching out for people, then take off. We used to fake fight to see who would stop.
Something we did do with cops was follow them. We'd get in the car, buckle up, follow the law so we couldn't get a ticket, then just follow the cop car to see if they would stop us. We only got stopped twice. We never got in trouble for it though. In retrospect, I'm suprised they didn't approach the car with their guns drawn.

I'm not fat, I have a 4 pack & love handles. I just want to get rid of the latter. Someone mentioned some sort of contorted crunch thing.

Well, if you don't mind losing muscle mass along with it, I would suggest puking or anorexia.
I was anorexic a few years ago, but not intentionally (so I don't know if you would call it that then). I messed up my back and got hooked on pain killers. Afer a while I was hardly eating anything at all. But I didn't even realize I wasn't eating, which is strange because I eat a lot. After I quit taking the pills and detoxed myself, I put on twenty pounds in four days. But I had lost a lot of muscle.

If you want to lose weight, long distance running is a bad idea. Shorts bursts will burn fat faster. I recommend diving, or, in the absense of a pool, sprints.

I do Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and will soon be adding MMA classes, but I enjoy running as well. It's a good supplement for the more sport-specific conditioning I do otherwise.
I'm not "gifted" runner at all......if I lay off for even a short while my endurance suffers, my stride is definitely not pretty. But give me my ipod and I'll bang out the miles.

get one of those exercise balls. those big 55cm ones. or 65cm if you're tall and do crunches on those. also, do bicep curls on it, helps your balance and automatically helps your stomach.

i was 300 something in january, and am at 240 right now, but it's easier to lose weight when you're that much overweight. Not sure what you'd do if you're not so much. i think watching what you eat is the easiest thing.
anyone running any 5k's or anything this year?
