So the story goes like this: Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling was at Game 2 of the NBA finals, and watching the game, Schilling felt like Kobe Bryant was being a dick in the way he talked to his Lakers teammates. So he blogged about it on his website.

When Bryant was asked about Schilling's blog, he yelled "Go Yankees!", a response that is being hailed by Yahoo Sports as so witty that Voltaire would have wished he came up with it.

In any other season, the comment would have been fairly clever. But in the 2008 MLB season, the Yankees are a fucking joke. They've been in last place in the AL East for the most of the season. Hell, they're currently in a three-way tie for last place. There's nothing fun or exciting about the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry this year, it's just awful. Watching the Yankees play this year is like watching Eight Belles run the Kentucky Derby, it's going to end in tragedy and death.

Right now his team needs to focus, and a distraction like this just hurts his team.

I personally think that the Yankee comment was ok, but if I were trying to win the NBA championship I would be more concerned with putting the ball through the fucking hoop than I would about an old fat loudmouth and trying to win a verbal battle.

As long as it ends here, I don't think it'll be much of a distraction. They only thing I think it would do at the worst is take attention away from the series itself. But I don't think its something that will weigh heavy on the minds of Kobe and/or his team. I mean, I doubt he will become distracted in a practice or a game because he is worried about what is gonna be said about him (people are always saying stuff about him) or because he can't think of a clever retort.

Very true. I hate ESPN, because the only sport I'm into that's going on right now is baseball, and ALL they cover is East coast teams, specifically Boston and NY. I don't give a fuck about what retarded thing Manny Ramirez is doing or saying. Really If somebody could suggest a good Sports News site, that would be awesome.

Deadspin. News with commentary and a comments section. Funny, poignant, and a good time all around.

I'm so bananas I'm showing up to your open casket,
to fill it up with explosive gases,
and close it back,
with a lit match in it,
while I sit back, and just hope it catches.

Blow you to fragments,
laugh,
roll you, and smoke the ashes.

he's old and good, and the guy who had the bloody leg and pitched when boston won the world series. He's a douchebag, but a legendary pitcher none the less.

Unless it wasn't a joke.

Regardless, Schilling was a Boston minor-leaguer who went to Philly, then Arizona, then back to Boston. He's won 3 championships, been a World Series MVP, and will probably end up in the hall of fame.

Curt Schilling would rate as a very good pitcher.

He is known for being extremely good in the post season.

His biggest problem is that he has a big mouth.

If you don't know who he is just read here:
