The captions aren't finished and a subpage with the power-ups isn't done, but here: http://www.sydlexia.com/miracleworld.htm

I'm heading out with some friends for the next 4-5 hours, and I wanted to get this up now in case I'm feeling too tired to finish it when I get back. So anyway, enjoy. And here's hoping that it's actually complete and I didn't accidentally forget to finish some of my

I haven't read the article yet, but I noticed that you use alt text for some of the images. That's cool, but people using newer versions of Firefox won't notice that. Older versions used to show the alt text in a yellow box if you put the mouse pointer over the image. I guess that's still true for IE. At some point in the past Firefox stopped doing that because there is a title attribute for img tags available now. alt text is supposed to be shown if images can't be loaded or by text browsers that can't display images. The title text is shown if the mouse pointer is held over an image. So if you want users of newer versions of Firefox to see the alt text you'd have to put it in the title attribute too.

I'm aware of the alt text problem. Take it up with Firefox.

What?

Also, I should give an explanation cuz my first response sounded kinds dickish. The title tag cuts off in both browsers after like 100 characters. So the option is either full support in IE or half-assed support in both. I choose full IE support.

I am out right now. I'm on my phone. I can't update the site from my phone. We're waiting for our food to come. Black Zarak looks annoyed that I'm playing on my phone while talking.

I thought you were saying I had friends at Firefox...

At first I thought that thread said Alex MACK in Miracle World.

You must be thinking about her evil, uglier twin sister. Didn't know we were related Val.

As long as she's not a fraternal twin, I can deal with a slight downgrade. And how are we related? McCallister is Scottish. Vald R. O'Nius is Irish.

They are sisters so we are brother-in-laws.

I've been waiting a long time for that article, and even longer for a new one beginning with "Syd Lexia on". Nice job, Syd. It was well worth the wait.

That Alex Kidd article was awesome, well worth the wait. And i'm glad you pointed this game out to me Syd, i always wondered why Grandpa Grimmy liked to hide in boxes. Now i know it harked back to happier times for him.

This article is fucking fantastic. Big ups for choosing a game to review from my early childhood. Yes, I had a Master System, and yes, Miracle World was one of my first games.

Kudos.

Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us.

i remember this game as a child. this was before i learned how to read english (i didnt learn how to until 2nd grade) and my neighbor (the guy who owned the master system) didnt know how to read english either, so we had no clue what the game was about. but i still had a blast, although i never managed to beat the game.
