Anyone here play CoD4 on Live? I'm kickin' ass and taking names on a daily basis. It's the perfect balance between casual, non-committal gaming and action packed, arcade fps fun. Basically it makes me not hate console FPS games.

I agree that the precision of a mouse and keyboard will never be equaled by the analog stick. I can't count the times I've died because I can't turn around fast enough to check my back, or I miss a super easy shot by a centimeter.

I still find the game to be fun though, I dunno. I just really like the mechanics. All the guns are devastatingly damaging, and headshots are instantly lethal, which I love. The melee combat is quick and effective, no more clunky weapon swapping bullshit, just BAM instant knife, instant kill. My only gripes are that nade spam is fucking annoying (especially people who use martyrdom), and airstrikes and enemy helicopters are too easy to get kills with.

Overall I've pretty much accepted the fact that analog sticks will never be equal to mouse and keyboard, so I manage to find a lot of enjoyment in the multiplayer.
