Microsoft-owned developer Rare is currently hard at work on a new Killer Instinct offering for Xbox 360 tentatively titled Killer Instinct 3D: Death, Destruction, and Doom. Word has it that the plasticized 2D visuals and mash-happy gameplay have been wisely bulldozed in favor of fully 3D graphics and a more refined combat system. Our Q-spies in the U.K. report that the game looks "rather early" yet "promising," and tell us to expect a hasty denial from the cheeky lads at Rare.
im not sure if i feel comfortable w/them changing the fighting mechanic from 2D to 3D but i guess all we can do is wait and see.

I was right it was about the company rare
Wait what company makes DK games now?
I'm so bananas I'm showing up to your open casket,
to fill it up with explosive gases,
and close it back,
with a lit match in it,
while I sit back, and just hope it catches.
Blow you to fragments,
laugh,
roll you, and smoke the ashes.
Um... wasn't Killer Instinct originally in 3D then nerfed for the SNES?
Also, this is too funny. Rare said they had no interest in doing a new KI game. Who wants to bet that Microsoft strong-armed them into making it?

wait. are you talking about graphics or the actual fighting mechanic?

it was a 2d game that used shitty 3d models.
I, for one, am all about them redesigning the gameplay. KI had a lot of character and lots of nostalgia, but going back and trying to play it now is kinda painful.

Graphics. Oh... you're talking about the engine itself. My bad.
