Well I thought it might be interesting if we would pick our personal favorite for movie of the year before the Oscars. Not really sure how many people here really care for movies in general, but figured I would try...
My favorite by a long shot is Drive. This movie came out of nowhere, and some dumb cunt was funny enough to try and sue the producers for it not being a mindless 2fast 2furious ripoff.
It's really, really good. It has been a long time since I have liked a movie this much and I was quite surprised by it. I love when that happens...

I don't really have any movie that stands out from last year other than the new Harry Potter that I saw. A bunch of okay comedies but nothing great enough there to even recall names. Harry Potter is literally the only movie I can recall seeing by name so I guess that's what my choice will be, even though it wasn't extraordinary.
Yeah I have only seen 3 movies on that entire list. There's a few I want to see but haven't and of the three I've seen Harry Potter beats out the Transformers and the Planet of the Apes movies. I just didn't see much come out that looked worth watching last year and only saw Transformers and Rise of the Planet of the Apes because the campus channel shows new movies sometimes and I watch them if I'm completely bored.

Yeah it's been a pretty sad year in general for movies, actually the last couple years really. Drive was nominated for nothing, but whatever. =(

I thought 2011 was a pretty shitty year in film, which kinda blows because the three before it were awesome.

I thought Super 8 was okay. Didn't really watch any other films.

The Descendants and The Help were both pretty good, I agree with everyone else though that nothing that spectacular came out. I see a fair amount of movies in theaters and there was nothing that I saw that made me even think about buying on DVD when it came out.
Where's Doctor Wiley... Oh no, too late.

Super8 was good. It's like "Little Rascals" meets "E.T." meets "Independance Day". I don't think i will ever watch it again, but it surprised me in good ways.
it was the best of times
