Deeathlord reminds me of an old Slayer's Hell Awaits.

Nope, the other game giant got them. SSI was acquired by Mindscape in 1994, spent time as part of Mattel, and finally became part of Ubisoft (in March 2001), which has since retired the brand name.
Fun Fact:
One of the most famous Fantasy Artists of all time, Boris Vallejo, did the cover art for a computer game as well. Strangely though, it wasn't for a fantasy RPG, it was for a football game:

A lot of these covers remind me of the stuff in my 2nd Edition D&D books, likely because of the crossover for both of the mediums.

Lets see if that shows.
Edit: Yep it shows. If football was weird for Boris, then Ecco the Dolphin is even weirder. His wife Julie Bell did the cover art for Eternal Champions.
I'm not sure what other videogame artwork they have done. I know they are both very good fantasy artists, even though they often use fantasy artwork as an excuse to draw nigh-nude buff people.
Also as an aside, Julie did a batloaf meat out of hell album cover. And they both did the ATHF movie cover, but you probably already knew that.

Gotta love Valejo's other movie artwork as well. Deathstalker FTW.
