Okay, now that the movie has been out for months, I'm just curious to what this thing even looks like. There have been a few suggestions:

But this seems to be the most 'official' one

Does the movie even give you a clue to what it looks like or is it more like the Blare Witch and it's all in the audiences head?

They give you several good shots of the monster towards the end.

Good, because i'm thinking of renting it sometime and would like to see what this thing looks like at the end. It would really erk me if i saw this movie and the monster is never relived. Although i am prone to motion sickness, better eat some ginger before watching this then. Razz

And looking at the first video, the creature looks more like El Chupacabra then something that could level Manhattan. The creature in the last picture looks more like a huge monster of mass destruction. Twisted Evil

It looks more like what is shown in video 1 and 4 and resembles the attempt of 3. The last picture must be a phony to throw people who tried to leek info on the movie before it's release.

Still, it looks more like it should be the size of a tiger and terrorize people one by one in some dark dingy sewer. If i'm not mistaken, it was Bill Nye who pointed out that giant building size ants could not exist because it's weight would be so great the skinny legs of the ant would cave. This version of the cloverfield monster (i think i'll call him clovey) has such skinny legs that if it gained another kilo they would snap.

Although, i'll admit, it's built good enough to possible survive in mega size, i still think clovey would be better suited for the new Mexico desert terrorizing drunken and/or stoned frat boys.

i still havent finished this movie. i saw parts of it when i was movie hopping and i thought it looked alright. i got up to the part where that one emo looking chick explodes behind the curtains. i thought that was hilariously awesome.

The monster is stupid looking, I described a way cooler looking monster in speculation to my friend as we were headed in to see Cloverfield and boy was I disappointed. I can honestly say I could make a better monster than that.

Who came up with that whale-like monster? I get lots of pictures of it when searching for "cloverfield monster" on Google Image, but I didn't see it in the movie and I don't think I missed it.

To be honest, the Octa-Whale would snap Clovey like a twig. I want OW in something now, that would be a much cooler monster movie and the title should be:

i guess im probably the only one, but the appearance of clovey (nice nick reeper) doesnt really matter to me. its a big ass monster that fucked up new york city like it was nothing. and clovey probably fucked up new york just using his wang.

Something a friend showed me:

"The monster is an Angel from Neon Genesis Evangelion.It came up from the sea and immediately started laying waste to the nearest populated area, a la several of the angels. An AT-Field would explain it's apparently total invulnerability. The sequel will involve the deployment of Evangelions to New York to contain it. Is there some kind of rule that every Wild Mass Guess page has to have an extremely stretched Evangelion guess? Actualy, I'd say that this Wild Guess is pretty valid. The Monster is only slightly less weird-looking than many Angels, and there's no way that normal organic tissues could survive that amount of firepower completely unscathed. The only missing bit is the lack of abstract symbolism in it's structure and a core."

And the angels haves some kind of connection to various religions or faiths. I can't imagine any faith that would worship something like clovey.

But i have figured out what Octa-whale is . . . it's Sin from FFX. Very Happy

That would mean Octa-whale owns clovey even more!!!!
