From the 8-bit: A light gun game best known for players' inability to do a certain something and its association to a certain other game.

From the 16-bit: A top-down action game that pits one or two teenagers against B-movie monsters as they try to save their neighbors from them.

Fun Fact: Both of these games appear on Flying Omlette's top 25 list of the most overrated games she's played. In fact, she particularly hates the latter.

It's a retro video game site. Not a bad one either. Frankly, I'm not a huge fan of her features and reviews, but her video game music download section has helped me get some real gems.

I love Duck Hunt, but I like Hogan's Alley better. It always makes me think of the shootoff in Magnum Force.

That said, my vote goes for Zombies.

Flying Omlette is cool, but both these games are fantastic.

I will say though that it's very hard to call Duck Hunt overrated. I mean, it was a free fucking game. Unless you got the crappy original NES package with ROB, Duck Hunt came packaged with your system as either 1/2 or 1/3 of a multicart. It's not like you paid money for it. It came FREE with your damn system. And maybe it's not as good as Super Mario. But it's still fucking fun.

hmmm. i was very young so all i remember was the NES + the game and it was just super mario bros. the sticker on the cartridge was just super mario bros. i remember my cousin buying his NES and his came w/the dual cartridge. needless to say, my brother and i felt gypped. cant recall if it came w/two controllers or one though.

There were two packages that debuted side by side. The Controler Deck, which was 199.99 and came with an NES, SMB, and two controller. Then there was the Deluxe Set, which is the original package that most people remember. It was an NES, ROB, two controllers, a Zapper, and three game carts: SMB, Duck Hunt, and Gyromite. These packages were eventually replaced by an Action Pack that came with an NES, a Zapper, two controllers, and the SMB/Duck Hunt multicart. It retailed for 149.99. This retooled package and price cut led the NES to much success.

I'm not exactly sure how but I somehow own 2 NES Zappers.

I think it's just one of those mysteries whose answer is lost in time, like whatever happened to my copy of SMB2.
