From the 8-bit: The RPG that gave birth to the genre as we know it and spawned a series that's insanely popular in Japan.
From the 16-bit: An RPG named for the hero's girlfriend as they and some others take up arms against the Sinistrals.
That second description may or may not be accurate, I don't know, I've never played it and am unable to check for the moment, I hope. Anyway, pick an RPG.

Your descriptions just plain suck. Generally you say a few good things for one and then negative vague or just indeterminate things for another as if you were trying to sway votes in your favor.

Dragon Warrior does give you the herpe if you don't lay the paper down.
I played dragon warrior when I was in about 6th grade. I wasn't into RPGs at the time.I had tried a few and found them boring and less than intuitive.
Dragon warrior came with a walkthrough as a bonus, which taught me the basics to play RPGs and the patience to deal with the more difficult ones (like FF1).
Basically, I probably would not play RPGs save for dragon warrior, clumsy as it was.

And Lufia And The Fortress Of Doom edges out Dragon Warrior. I'll try and step up the descriptions in the next one.

Just bought Dragon Warrior off of eBay. Mint condition too, but I haven't been physically able to play it (I don't have an NTSC NES).
Haven't played either, but I've heard that Lufia has some serious flaws.
