Let me start off by thanking each and everyone of you for reading this site. You've helped me live out a dream I've had for a long time. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. Three and a half years ago I started this site with the hope to make some people laugh at the elements of pop culture that I grew up on. I had no idea that so many people would share this experience with me. But as you probably already figured out, SydLexia.com is heading toward that bright light at the end of the tunnel. The site is being shutdown, and though it hurts to write this, I take some measure of comfort in the fact that I get to take it down on my own terms, and that I get to send this sign off to you all. I'd like to take this last bit of time to share with you some of the moments in this site's life that will stay with me forever. I hope some of you will share these memories with me.

Back on October 18th, 2006, the alexa ranking for SydLexia.com spiked to an incredible 2384. On that day, there were only 2383 sites on the entire internet that were more popular then this one. I'm not sure what caused it, but it happened, and that's all that matters. I thought it was a great achievement that I bested Seanbaby.com in alexa rank on September 9th of 2005, but that was only the beginning.


Every now and again, something that starts of as a goofy idea ends up evolving into something greater than could have ever been predicted. Such was the case with some of the articles that were written. The Girls of the NES was one of those. I'll never forget the feeling I got when I checked my site logs and found that the article had been linked to on Destructiod. My small time site had been recognized by a site that I myself had used to find many of the sites that I love. I guess it had to happen at least once out of the 80 articles that were written. Man, 80 articles. Even saying it now it seems so surreal.

The NES and SNES top 100 lists are also accomplishments that I will remember forever. Sometimes I wonder what the lists would turn out like if I did them now, with the group of people who frequent the forums. Would they be better? Would they be worse? I really don't know, but I'm proud to say that they exist, and that I was the hand that steered the rudder in their creation.

I am especially proud of the community of people that has become known as The Forums. Sure we've had our ups and downs, but I wouldn't trade you guys for the world. Someday we'll all get together and have a party. We'll drink until we can't drink anymore, and then play Brawl until we pass out in a drunken stupor of joyful bliss.
