If you hold like R or Z or soemthign (maybe either) you'll start as zero suite samus, isntead of regular samus.. I think you either need to hold it before selectin the character, or maybe just before selecting the stage, after already have selecting samus.

its L + R on the gamecube controller.

And it's just before you select the stage right that you have to holdign it?

yeah... works for sheik too. and you have to do while selecting the character. when it goes to the stage select screen, you should be able to see the small picture at the top left show the character you will start with

You only need to hold R on the Gamecube controller.
Also, that does not work for Sheik. However if you hold R while selecting Mushroomy Kingdom and while it's loading, you have a 100% chanc of getting Level 1-2 instead of 1-1.
If you want to start as Sheik, it's even easier. Put your character select token on Zelda/Sheik and then drag the cursor down the bottom of the screen where it lets you select your costume color. In the box where it shows your current costume color, click on Sheik's face (use A on the Gamecube controller, dunno what it would be on the Wii controls). You'll know it's worked because the name at the top of screen will change from Zelda to Sheik. You can also use this method to select with Pokemon the trainer starts with, but the name in the box won't change.

How come they got someone with talent to do the Captain N comic but the CDi cutscenes look like they were done by a five year old?

Hey maybe they were done by stoned five year olds, that thought their drawings looked nice, but they were too stoned to realize that they were crappy.
