I found this Super Famicom T.V. on eBay today. Apparently, you put your SNES/Super Famicom games into the cartridge slot on top of the T.V. and you can play them on the T.V.

I don't know what to say about this.

You'd have to be a serious fan (or quite gullible) to purchase this. I mean, did you see the shipping prices? Yikes! If you want to play SNES games, buy one of those newly legal rip-off systems for $10 and get your own freakin' TV.

It would work if you were trying to play super nintendo games but this is for Super Famicom games, so that won't really work. Shipping a tv international would be quite expensive so I can almost understand the shipping.

I guess I just assumed those new rippoff systems would be able to play both, since the region lockout was purely a marketing thing done by Nintendo. Still, I bet you can still get a Super Famicom clone from Hong Kong and get it a lot cheaper.

And, yeah, the shipping is probably reasonable for what it is. But I would never pay it. Especially since the Nintendo's license on the (Super) Famicom hardware is expired, hence the many clones. That would make it quite hard for Nintendo to prosecute anyone who plays legally made backups. (Of course, that's the real reason they created the Virtual Console...)

I never said that I'd buy it, but rather just show it to you.

If you were a serious Nintendo collector, though, then you'd probably get it.

If the carts were shaped similarly (instead of curved) then yea you could probably play both, and I agree you could definitly get a HK knock off much cheaper, hell you could probably get an actual SF cheaper.

If you have an FC Twin, you can play most Famicom games by snapping off the plastic slot guards. If it's a Retro Duo (which would've been the better purchase on my part), you don't have to do anything.

ASSEMbler has pictures of a bunch of cool rarities like this on their site. I used to hunt stuff like this down several years ago, but then I realized I had no plans to resell anything, so I quit hunting. :p

Yeah, you'd need cash alright, especially with the shipping rates.

Well, I want to start hunting Nintendo and Sega collectibles, but maybe that T.V. is a little much, even for me.

In any case, could you link me up to that site, please?

I didn't say that you said that. I just expected him to have that item on his site, since it was about video game oddities. Confused
