It occured to me while I was playing the first Castlevania on Virtual Console. Characters from not one but two Nintendo games that very few people cared about get "resurrected," but Castlevania gets the shaft? And there were plenty of things Nintendo could have done with him. "A" could have been various whip moves, B could have been the Holy Water (ala Snake's Grenade), up B could have been the axe (ala Yoshi's Egg), and the final Smash could have been the stopwatch, which doesn't sound useful at first, but hey, while enemies are frozen in place you could regular smash or just get a few seconds of free shots.
