Ugh, I own a bootleg of the movie a friend gave me cause he loves it so much, but I've started watching it three times and never finished... I also know the ending which also kills my desire to want to see the rest of it.

Best picture? Maybe in terms of the power of film, but so far (and granted I have not seen the whole film) it is not one of my favorites of last year. However, I rate all movies based on their entertainment value for myself.

That said, Tommy Lee Jones is awesome and it's always good to see him in non-embarrassing roles.

like i told my friend, i left the theater w/blue balls.

nothing but great story progression (imo) and suddenly it ends. no climax. it just turns you on and on thruout the whole movie and then its over.

I think if I could figure out the symbolism of how the ending plays into the rest of the movie, I would discover the secrety to life, the universe and everything.

Still, a damn good movie. One of my favorites.

One of the most badass exchanges in the history of badassedness:

What's the most you ever lost on a coin toss?
What?
Call it.
I didn't bet anything.
Yes, you did.
(scared) No, I didn't.
Call it, friendo.

The only more badass exchange that I can think of beyond this is:

Ringo: I want your blood. I want your souls. And I wnt them both right now.
Virgil: I don't want more trouble.
Ringo: Well, ya got trouble! And it starts with you (points at Wyatt).
Wyatt: I'm not gonna fight you, Ringo. There's no money in it. Sober up. Come on, boys.
Ringo: You wretched slugs! Don't any of you got the guts to play for blood?!
Doc (out of nowhere): I'm your huckleberry. That's just my game.
Ringo: Alright, lunger. You go to hell. I'll put you out of your misery.
Doc: Say when...

Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us.

I can't find the exact quote, but the scene in Young Guns where they shoot the guy and then stuff the warrant they were supposed to serve him in his mouth was pretty badass.

GET. OUT. OF. MY. TOWN!

It isn't your town anymore!!!

(Skinner gets Shoryukened.)

Agreed, this was a fantastic movie. It assured that I will go see any movie with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, especially after taking into account how great Shaun of the Dead is.

Yes. Yes it is. (Hot Fuzz being kickass)

I'm wondering if "No country for old men" will be like several oscar winning movies, in that in a decade nobody will remember them or watch them.
