Is anyone here a raging death wish fan? from its incisive, pointed social commentary of death wish 1, to the comical mayhem of 3, to the sad tragedy of 5. paul kersey is the man, no doubt, but how did he keep finding women to date him?

Death Wish rules. Bronson is the man.
Did you ever see Death Sentence? The modern day rip-off starring Kevin Bacon? It wasn't bad, but Bacon is no Bronson.

I've seen Death Sentence. One of the most criminally underadvertised movies of last year. I first learned about it via the previews at another such movie, Sunshine. As far as I'm concerned, Kevin Bacon has never looked better. Also, in regards to Death Wish 3, I heard it was a waste of film.

Dude #3 was my favorite Death Wish. I remember his friend got one of the Machine Guns taken away but i remember Bronson using the other one to wipe out an entire gang. That was pretty badass.

even more alarming is that sylvester stallone has the rights now for a remake/sequel/abortion clinic...apparently he is going for a holy trinity of horrible remakes by an aging action star

Stallone could probably pull off a Death Wish remake. Bronson was pretty old when he made the original.
Also, you mentioned Stallone completing a "holy trinity" of bad remakes? What other remake has he done besides Get Carter?

Fucking Get Carter was awesome. Mainly because it doesn't make sense unless you break down the film and make a chart of characters. I didn't really like it the first time I saw it, but then I saw the original... God bless you, Demolition Man.
Anyway, I haven't seen all the Death Wish films. Life feels empty. I still sort of wish Stallone would retire while he's on top.

I hate actors who retire. I'm looking at you, Connery and Newman. If you can breathe, you can act. If Bronson hadn't died, we'd all be watching Family of Cops 9 right now. We, the moviewatching public, own you ungrateful bastards until you die. NOW DANCE FOR US, MONKEYS!!!

Nope, those were Rocky VI and Rambo IV respectively. The numbers were dropped because no one likes Rocky V and Rambo III was fairly poorly received as well. Also, it had been over 15 years since the last Rocky and Rambo movies.
And those were actually both pretty good movies. If Black Zarak reads this thread, he'll jump and say Rocky Balboa sucked, but it was the first Stallone movie in many years to win over the professional movie critics and it was a good send off to the beloved character. At the very least, it was a much better closing chapter to the Rocky saga than V was.

I enjoyed the way they did the Rocky send off. It made sense. No street fight to techno or whatever the mess V was.
I saw the Rambo and i loved every bit of it. Rambo's inner torments were really the main point in my eyes. Trying to avoid killing yet coming to terms that people will always need saving.
