I have lived here for a little over 4.5 years and I still can't figure this out.

What the hell is wrong with Massachusetts??

I might have to move away if this type of behavior continues.

A Milford man lapped gasoline off the ground Wednesday and screamed at several passing cars, eluding arrest for more than a half hour, police said.

Jose Dias Ferreira, 35, was arrested at 10:32 p.m. after he ran into the middle of Waverley Street, stopping traffic and screaming at cars, police spokesman Lt. Paul Shastany said.

Officer William Fuer was on patrol on Hollis Street when he saw a man, later identified as Ferreira, running around the AutoBrite parking lot, which is next to a Sunoco station.

"The (gas station) attendant said a nozzle fell on the ground and gas leaked out," Shastany said. "This man got on the ground and started lapping it up."

After that, Ferreira got up, screamed and ran, the attendant told Fuer. Ferreira collapsed, then got back up and continued his strange behavior, Shastany said.

When Ferreira saw Fuer, he ran away. Officers searched the area and could not locate him.

About a half hour later, Fuer was parked in the Store 24 parking lot when a man told him a strange man was walking on the railroad tracks near the Bank of America ATM on Waverley Street.

Officers arrived in time to see Ferreira fall to the ground and get back up.

"He ran into traffic and started screaming," said Shastany. "He stopped in the middle of the road, just screaming, and all of the cars had to stop."

Ferreira, who is homeless, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.

He pleaded not guilty at his Framingham District Court arraignment yesterday. He was released without bail and is due back in court on March 31 for a pretrial conference.

You can only blame a state for collective nutty behavior. This lone wackjob is not enough to condemn a state.

Now, if you live in a state like texas, california, or alaska, then you have a problem.

There are plenty of things wrong with Massachusetts, but I don't think you can blame a crazy homeless guy on the state.

this one crazy homeless native guy used to come drink w/us by our house back in the day. we called him 'pistol pete.'

good thing about befriending bums (besides the karma) is that they appreciate you hanging out w/them and you dont have to worry about your house getting broken into.

We met a dude named Butch at 19th and Union hills. He hung at the del taco we frequent when my friends are drunk and or high. nice guy.

My mother told me that when she used to walk to school there was a homeless nut named whistling benny. He didn't actually whistle mind you, but if he caught you whistling he would assault you.
