This freaked me the fuck out and I refused to answer the phone when I saw it. When they didn't leave a message, I was even more freaked out.

But luckily, it wasn't the FBI, or worse yet, a casting call from that shitty ass reality show. No, it was the Big Brothers Big Sisters Foundation, a charity organization that harasses the hell out of you until you give them old clothes and toys. Sorry assholes, I gave them all to the Church.

Syd, you might want to take that wad of cash and invest in a DECT 6.0 phone and a new comb.

May I suggest you get a nice big Ace?

I'm tired of seeing stuff like "Unknown Number" or "Private Caller" or whoever else we don't know. Them, and the Red Cross. I donate blood every few months, they can stop calling me.

Fixed. I had the slashes backwards. That's what happens when you post right before you go to work when you're half asleep.

The weird part is that it showed up fine for me and GPFontaine apparently saw it too.

Sometimes I get phone calls from Maryland, Manitoba, and Michigan. And I drunk-dialled my mom on that very model of phone last night. It looks really different when you're pumped full of tacos, JD, and fireball

Through the miracle of technology we have scanned Ross's brain and have taken a picture from his mind.

We can now see exactly what Ross thought he was seeing when he was,

Based on the findings of this experiment, the only conclusion to be drawn is that Ross should probably lay off the booze before he begins to beleive that the phone wishes to fellate him.

Ross, you are a sick fuck.

Maybe it depends on what browser everybody was using.

I thought that too... but maybe not.

I use IE 6.0, but Fontaine saw it and I'm almost positive he uses Firefox. He doesn't seem like the kinda guy who would use IE.

/sigh

I am not that type of guy.

I'm also not that type of guy.

I use whatever, whenever. Well, not Safari, it just fucks everything up. But pretty much all other browsers.

Security wise here is the latest rundown of modern browsers
Most secure: IE7 > Firefox 2 > Firefox 1 > Mozilla 1.5 > IE6 :Least Secure

Still, to a large degree security is dependant on stupidity, so I suppose that isn't the best way to rate browsers.

IE renders pages in the MS way, which contrary to every linux nut's thoughts on the subject is the way that more than 80% of the world sees things. So whenever possible keeping things kosher with IE is a necessity. Firefox is number two, so it is also important, but they conform to those... er... what do you call them. Oh... Standards.

So when I code I try to validate to conform to the standards, but I may change things up to try and make it look nicer on IE.

When coding script it becomes a bigger pain in the ass. I try really hard to just keep it to IE and Firefox, but even standards can't save you with Javascript. Often times multiple versions of code need to be written. Same goes for CSS.

Also I have to factor in that I use a PC about 90% at work, and 50% at home. The rest is a Mac. So IE isn't an option, but Camino is, and so is Native Safari. Which sucks as much as the Windows version.

And to make things all the more fun, I sometimes browse using my Wii, which uses the crap flavored Opera browser.

Now that is a total piece of shit software that should just fucking die. The Wii web doesn't have to suck, they just choose to let it. Even with a keyboard hooked up to the usb port it still sucks balls.

So... what browser am I going to select?

On a PC - IE for work. Firefox for Porn.
Just set it so that Firefox resets every browsing session (nice little feature).

On a Mac - Firefox

Both browsers have a lot of the same features now, so what are some of the features that stand out as better in each?

Firefox has spell checking
Internet Explorer has ActiveX
Internet Explorer has more CSS options (which are nicer to use)
Firefox has better add-ins... but I don't use them
Firefox has better cache management tools

In the end I choose Both.

The competition that was lacking before firefox came out allowed Microsoft to slow down their IE work. And in the end it made IE very unstable, featureless, and risky.

That competition has now made IE7 a great browser and in turn, Firefox is now better too.

We all win.

But I win the most, because I don't give a shit about what i have to use, and that lack of a choice allows me to have less anxiety and more tranquility.

Yay me!!!

Don't lie Ross.

It isn't like I photoshopped that or something.

The people who coded Firefox are philosophically opposed to the HTML tag ALT and refuse to make it function the way it does in IE. For this, I hope they die. But first, I hope they watch their children die.

You actually think they really had intercourse with a woman?

I use Firefox, because IE renders CSS like my mother cooks. I'd rather eat a bowl of hot glass shards than eat my mother's cooking (sorry mum).

Plus it has this ActiveX thing that no one cares about, yet it is a potential security flaw.

And I don't have to install bullshit Windows just so I can use a web browser that doesn't do shit compared to FF/Opera.

Granted, both FF and Opera have their flaws. FF lacks a good RSS reader and slows down your computer like a motherfucker. Opera on the other hand was once "the fastest browser on the world". Yeah, it was. Until they thought a mail / IRC client was a great idea.

So, the only logical conclusion is, use Lynx.

I use Firefox and IE. I don't care for Firefox much, but it's the second most popular browsers and I need to make sure that the site looks decent in it.

I also got a new phone last week, and that has Safari on it. Safari kinda sucks... it doesn't like to load certain objects in pages, like music players on MySpace pages. Maybe that's just because I'm on a mobile device though.

How well can you browse on your phone? I've never actually seen mobile web-surfing in action.
