So far this week i have seen a few episodes from season 8 and i forgot how funny it used to be. It easily has to be my favorite season even if its just for Hank Scorpio.

I've got seasons 1 - 10 and yeah 8 is a good one.
The movie was a lot funnier than I expected.

I own 1-8 and won't be buying anymore. 9 is when the bad episodes first outnumbered the good episodes.
The Scorpio episode in 8 is my favorite episode next to the 22 Short Stories about Springfield ep.

I don't own any of the seasons.
I think my favorite was the one about the Radioactive Man movie.

They need to bring Hank Scorpio back. Have him fued with Mr Burns for domination of the planet or something, LOL
(If something like this has already happened, disregard my post. I haven't seen many of the newer episodes from the past 5 years or so.)

I have season 9 on dvd. It is fantastic. Of course it does have the episode that reveals Skinner as a fraud.

My brother in law buys every season, i think the commentaries alone are worth it as they have one for every single episode

Yeah, Simpsons commentaries spoiled me; now I expect every show to have commentary on every episode.

"The Dead Zone" had them through season 3... And then they switched to specific episodes...
Mostly they can't do it due to time or costs. That's why shows like "24" or "Lost" can't have them for every episode.

I believe Matt and Trey originally planned to do commentaries for every South Park episode, but after Time Warner refused to include the Season 1 commentaries on the DVD, they got pissed and switched to doing mini commentaries on selected episodes.

Anyone watch last night's episode? A true classic of this season. I really don't get why people stop watching that show. In my opinion, it's done nothing but stay fresh all this time.

It had a couple of really good lines.
Chief Wiggum (picking up Martin's shirt): Ooh, do you think this will fit Ralphie?
Lou: Uh chief, that's evidence.
Wiggm: Yeah, but after it's evidence, it's a shirt again!
(Wiggum has just told reports that Martin is presumed dead.)
Lou: Aren't you supposed to inform the family first?
Wiggum: What do you think I'm doing right now?

Yeah, I enjoyed last nights episode. It wasnt too bad.
The one I really really enjoyed recently was the one where Homer takes the 'forget me' shot and he thinks Marge is cheating on him. I thought that was a well written episode.

Having dozens of episodes where Homer and Lisa learn to identify more with each other, or Homer and Marge having relationship trouble isn't my definition of staying fresh. They ran out of ideas a decade ago, and having one or two good episodes a season can not change that. IMO.

There have been a couple of really terrible episodes that have really made me hate the show a little bit.
For instance, the one this season where they arbitrarily decided to retcon when Marge and Homer got married so they could do a bunch of 90s gags and have Homer invent alternative was amazingly stupid. It also completely ignored the episode the episode where Homer met all those alternative bands at Hullabalooza and had no idea what alternative was.

I did like the Columbo stuff of this week and I LOVED that final ending-parody.

That episode had me swearing at the tv.
I dont watch TV alot I just buy boxsets so I've missed alot of the recent seasons, not sure what season it is but the episode where Homer needs to buy a new pair of those big blue pants is funny as hell in my opinion.

The one this week of Ralph running for president was sub-par.

I saw the first 10 minutes of the 90s episode. Got disgusted and turned off the TV.

That's the thing though. Loyal fans of any show love continuity. It means the shows in the past that they saw and loved, mattered somehow.
