So I lent my friend Super Paper Mario a few months ago and I finally got it back from him last night when we met up at the comic store book. When he returned it to me, the bottom of the case was all cracked. I was kinda pissed, as most people would be. But whereas most people would let it go, I didn't. After ten minutes of staring at the case, I made him buy me a $5 used Barbie DVD so that I could switch its pristine white case with the beat to shit white Mario case. Then I sold Barbie back to the store for $1.
Psycho or reasonable? You decide.

Quite honestly, I think that's reasonable.

I would have to agree w/Char saying it is borderline, because I would be upset about the box being broken, but I wouldnt make my friend buy me a replacement. If he offered to give me a new box or offered to replace it himself by buying the POS barbie game, then i would accept it, but i wouldnt make him buy it.
but in the end, you got a new box so thats always cool

I watched him do this and I thought it was a bit much, though it was funny.

totally reasonable. I never lend people games anymore since my SSBM is scratched to shit. Suprisingly it still works fine.

I'd chastise you for being OCD, but I really have no room to talk as when I bored in a store I'll start straightening items on shelves.

There's a book based on comic stores? Where can I get it?

Syd you should have made him watch the whole Barbie DVD before trading it back in.

Well see, I wanted to salvage the box art. If open the cases and hold them flat against the table, you can slide out the piece of paper that contains game/DVD information and put it in a new case. A CD case would be too small for that. And the replacement DVD cases you can buy at stores are black. Wii cases are white, so I needed a white case.

I'd do that every time I traded in a game with a cracked case, trading in a game with a damaged case / missing instructions really knocks the price down on trade in.

If you really had OCD, you wouldn't have lent out your game in the first place.
