I have never actually owned one but i have borrowed one by trading my ps for months at a time to play the marquee games. I'm finally gonna buy one. I know the virtual arcade has a lot of the 64 games but i'm a big fan of collecting and such.
The games i have always wanted to own for myself are Turok 1 Shadows of the empire Episode 1 Racer Bomberman 64 Mario Kart 64 Mario 64 Waverace Rogue Squadron Zelda TOoT Conker Smash Bros. Once i start ebaying ill probably buy more. My question is was there alot of hidden gems other than the big name games? The ones most people miss when they are browsing video game stores?

Well, if you like Wrestling games at all, the AKI series are still some of the best ever made, (WCW vs NWO World Tour, WCW/NWO Revenge, WWF Wrestlemania 2000, & WWF No Mercy.)
Also, Perfect Dark, Goldeneye, and Road Rash 64 were all badass games. (Though PD and Goldeneye haven't aged very well.)

Make sure you get an expansion pack if you go for Perfect Dark. Helps some slowdown problems. Also, I'd try Army Men: Air Combat, F-Zero X, the original Super Smash Bros, and Off Road Challenge.

You can only play limited multiplayer without the expansion pak. You cannot play the single player campaign without it.

Yeah, u need the expansion pack to play story mode in PD.
Aside from Road Rash 64 (which i have never played), all the titles mentioned thus far are great. Cant think of any others off the top of my head.

Perfect Dark is only good for the single player. The multi is blurry as hell.
Shadowgate 64 was pretty cool.

WinBack didn't get a lot of exposure, but it's a great game. It's like Metal Gear without the stealth.
I haven't heard anyone mention the Spider-Man game lately. It was released shortly before the first movie, so maybe it got lost among the games based from the film franchise. It may be short and easy, but it's damn fun and a good companion piece to the 90s cartoon.

Oh yeah, Banjo Kazooie wasnt too bad, except it became too much of a collect-a-thon. Not as bad as DK 64 though.
Dont forget Zelda: Majora's Mask.

I loved the Banjo-Kazooie games (either that or nostalgia has yet again done a number on me). I also thought Episode 1 Racer was fucking terrible (and too goddamn hard for that matter).

Never played Hexen, but quest 64 is indeed a gigantic steaming turd. Compare it to Zelda 64 as you might compare Zelda 1 to Spiritual Warfare

Hexen is a FPS made by Id, the people behind Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, and Quake. I thought the level design in this game was gay. Wolfenstein 3D have better levels, and all the rooms were rectangles due to it being made for DOS.

You will have to turn up the brightness level on your TV or play it in a pitch black room where the TV screen is the only light source, but Doom 64 was actually designed very well.
And Quest 64 wasn't THAT bad. If the N64 was the only system you owned and you liked RPGs and you had already beat Ocarina like 5 times, then it was a fairly satisfying title.

And the single player gets boring after the first five levels or so. Well, it did for me once Elvis showed up.

I have to agree w/the other Blast Corps lovers here. That game ruled, even if the story was almost non existent.
