Video game masochism? So basically playing Super Ghouls N' Ghosts or Battletoads would probably qualify for that.

No...no. Those games are fucking cake compared to that piece of shit.
This game isn't even fun. You die in one hit, and your only abilities are jump and shoot horizontally. Plus if you die you have to wait a fucking year to re-do anything because you have to play through the whole thing perfectly. Booooring.

What was the point? I mean it looked like if it was so hard how come he did it so flawlessly. If he created that "game" then he probably created how to beat said game. Now if he handed the controller to someone else that would be something. Its like setting up a combination to a safe in which you have the right combo and going "Abracadabra" and opening it up.

The point is, you have to play it and prove that you're a BIG MAN WITH A BIG PENIS BECAUSE YOU CAN BEAT A SHITTY, OVERLY DIFFICULT WASTE OF TIME! Hell yeah

That just seems like a really annoying waste of time.

I've tried this game out, and I honestly don't have the patience for it. Any game that requires that much memorization and trial-and-error (there's a LOT of weird, unexpected shit that pops out at you and YOU FUCKING DIE IF YOU TAKE ONE HIT) is really just a waste of time.
Some guy on Youtube played through the whole thing, and went insane in the process.

My thing is if this is the guy who created it why do we need to see him play it. He created the patterns so of course he knows how to solve it.

I've seen that video before and I don't think it's by the guy who created it. Just some other guy with too much time on his hands showing how far he can get or something.

Also, it's possible to create something you can't beat.
Back in the day, I created at least one ZZT adventure that I couldn't beat. Rather than making the hardest sequences easier, I hid a couple of super secret health rooms in the game so I could cheat my way to victory.
Syd, do you still have any of your ZZT adventures? I can't even tell you how much time I put into ZZT when I was younger. It was the greatest.
Actually, I was scouring the internet a while back looking for some ZZT games I created but no longer had. I came across the new ZZT community/message board and explained what I was looking for -- how I used to upload games to AOL and I was curious if any of them were still out there. And they were all like "wow, we don't really see anybody from back in the AOL days..."
I felt old.

Speaking of masochism, I found my Mission: Impossible and Ghostbusters NES cartridges. I feel like making a AVGN parody video now... But I really don't want to go through hell with either ever again.

Thanks!
I found my old Ghostbusters proton pack today and tried to figure out what the video would be. But what's to make fun of with the AVGN? His antics are more annoying than amusing. It's like making a Mel Brooks parody of Napoleon Dynamite. And if it gets made it wouldn't be til March at the earliest... Not to mention I started making a parody video review of the Midwest Teen Sex Show. Now that I should get finished.
